“On May 31st, I had the pleasure of dining at Thai Valley Grill, a cozy Thai restaurant located at 4211 106 St NW in Edmonton. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming. They quickly showed me to my table and brought water and menus within minutes.

A few minutes later, my guests arrived, and the staff made sure they were comfortably seated. After giving us time to look over the menu, they checked in to see if we were ready to order drinks. We weren’t quite ready, and they encouraged us to relax and take our time—creating a calm and friendly atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

About 30 minutes later, after chatting and catching up, we placed our order: satay skewers (2 chicken, 2 beef), Galangal Cashew Chicken (extra spicy), Pad Kee Maow, and coconut rice.

Everything arrived within 25 minutes and was absolutely delicious—full of rich, authentic flavour.

Beyond the food and service, we appreciated the warm, family-friendly environment. The owner's toddler son was happily playing nearby, which added a personal and joyful touch to the experience—and brought a big smile to my face.

“Don't let the bland exterior fool you. Tucked beside the classic Travelodge motel is this lil gem. I've always seen this place but never thought about trying it until today. The atmosphere is perfect. You can sit in a quiet area in the back or mix among the people in the middle. The food was elite. Perfect portion, each bite was tasty and the waitress had great night serving us. She checked in us the appropriately. She was kind, pleasant and efficient. I would recommend this place if you want to eat pasta on the Southside. It's probably the best pasta I've had on the south. This was my first time so I want to be honest, we ordered the rissoto both fish and beef and had the best garlic focaccia bread with olive oil/balsamic dip“

However they did a very nice gesture, and offered me a drink on the house, but the problem was I was drinking doubles and the free drink was just a diet pop. “We are from out of town so I was looking online for a place to order from and came across wild rose cakes. The ordering process was so easy and confirmed in a timely manner. Then we actually got the cake. Wow! So beautiful and perfect! We chose the flavour Strawberry Champagne and it did not disappoint. It was so amazing. The icing was so amazing. “Stumbled upon this sandwich shop in Brockville while traveling. We had just left Subway because the line was long and slow and so glad we did,. We enjoyed wonderful sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. And look forward to returning at a future date to try their smoothies - they look delicious!“

“A very decent Vietnamese place south side - probably the best I’ve tried. I always go for the beef vermicelli bowls and am looking for an amazing grilled meat which in my experience is hard to find. This place does it quite well. Only one other place in Edmonton does this better (Phobulous).

Downside is their fish sauce is seriously lacking flavour and they give such a small amount. The sizzling meat & veggie plate my partner had was also quite tasty.“

“I've been a Mikado customer and enthusiast since the owner (David) was a sushi chef at the original location back in the early 1980s. The fact that I (now 'we') continue to be clients of this fine establishment for over four decades pretty much illustrates how highly we regard this group of restaurants. 5.5 stars out of 5!!!“

“I only ordered a cup of Dark Chocolate Mocha. It’s good as a cup of Hot Chocolate since it has that depth, however, I don’t prefer it as a “Mocha”. I didn’t taste the blend of coffee and chocolate.

The barista present today was nice! She was accommodating and prompt.

I was also able to purchase a Hario V60 so it made the visit worthwhile.

I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere because it reminded me of a salon for some reason—probably too personal.“

“I was running late after finding the store on Calgary trail closed an hour early (with hand written sign posting their new hours not matching the website)while still having the open sign on. But Miss Love at your location answered the phone when I called and said she'd love to serve my family and I, so now here we are. It was a delicious meal served with an amazing smile. Their Caesar salad is delicious and perfectly sauced, they also have Gluten Free crust. “I have been staying at this hotel for many years as I come to Edmonton on business 1 - 2 weeks every month. The staff know me by name and I get great service. In particular - Jenny in the lounge is the primary reason I keep coming back. She manages a crowded room often on her own and always makes sure her customers are taken care of. “Ordered the Brooklyn pepperoni pizza. It's good. Not as salty or oily as Little Caesars. It's a little like Boston Pizza but a little cheaper. There's like a 5 dollar coupon after this meal so it's definitely an incentive to go again. The only thing is that the dough is a little more dense than most others. Just a personal preference. I recommend this restaurant.“

We don't get pizza, etc. here nearly as often now because we have to go get it so it's not as convenient.
