About Black Sheep Pâtisserie

Black Sheep Pâtisserie offers astonishingly good and creative pastries, with a delightfully European atmosphere. The shop is a tribute to French excellence in pastry and café culture, located conveniently on 17th Ave SW. Their croissants are considered the best in Calgary, with flavors like pear, raspberry, and the unique mango and coconut. Each croissant showcases an airy yet buttery dough, and the fillings are generous and refined, making them consistently stand out. The hot chocolate is exceptionally good, described as absolutely to die for, and the coffee is well-crafted, offering smooth, bold flavor that speaks of quality.

Prices are reasonable considering the high quality of their food and service. The cozy indoor seating and a few outdoor tables add charm to the space, though there are suggestions for a little upkeep to enhance the visual experience. The staff is typically warm and welcoming, with many being Francophone, making it a perfect place for those who speak French. This is a recommended spot for those seeking a taste of Paris in Calgary, where every bite justifies the price. It’s a treasure to be savored slowly, and a piece of Paris in the Canadian prairies.

My favorite spot for pastries in Calgary, and also the best baguette in town. The staff is always nice. I really enjoy flowers incorporated in recipes, which is hard to find (oh, the blueberry and lavender croissants or the violet latte!), and this place does it extremely well. I'm just dreaming of the day where they'll make spruce tip jelly and cranberry croissants for Christmas (and why not some chestnut creme with confit chestnut ones too).

I would NOT recommend this place unless you wanted to be treated like a piece of garbage. The short, arrogant, French guy with redish hair behind the counter should be fired as i have never been treated as poorly as this guy treated my guest and I. I won't be back. I'm mad at myself for not calling this Clown out while I was there!

While the baked goods are ok the business practice of the owner are sub par.
