I went in this morning to grab some GF treats for work and a drink for myself. There was only one person working. I felt for this woman, as it looked like she was trying to get organized with getting out the baked goods and she had a bunch of receipts on the counter from orders she had just completed.
As I’m sure there would be plenty of U of C students coming in during the morning, plus others coming in before work; there should be another person or two to help out.

Coffee tastes really good. Love the ambience and the crew too, specially Ben, if I remember correctly the korean guy. He is really nice and very pleasant. Will definetly go back.
Grabbed a window seat on a weekday morning and ended up staying way longer than planned just watching the light hit the street outside. The chai latte was solid and the banana bread was fresh, not dry like some places serve it. Staff behind the counter were friendly and didn't rush me even though I had my camera gear spread across the table editing shots. Good wifi too, so it doubled as a decent little workspace for a couple hours.

Overall, Waves Coffee House is a great place to unwind and enjoy a treat like a dark mocha or a Nanaimo bar, even if it may not be the best setting for serious work or meetings.
