There were many traditional dishes with some interesting modern twists that didn't distract from the familiar flavors of India. We had a party of eight so shared a number of dishes and every single one was a standout. “Dropped by Murrieta's for happy hour and was surprised to see a near-empty restaurant. Summer tourism has just begun, but I'd highly recommend Murrieta's for a happy hour stop at the least. They have a lot of great $10 deals and a $15 deal on pizzas. We got the lamb meatballs, brussel sprouts, and prosciutto pizza.

It took ~15 minutes for all the food to come out. The lamb meatballs were tender and juicy and came with a slightly spicy tomato sauce. The pizza had a fair amount of mushrooms and prosciutto, and I liked the added kick from the pepperoncini. My favorite dish was the brussel sprouts, which had a sweet and crunchy exterior and toasted almonds.“

Food is pricy but it’s good. The vegan hummus and bread was the best hummus I’ve ever had in my life. The vegan cauliflower dish was too spicy for my liking. Vegan soup was just okay. Good beer.

Definitely recommend coming here but you may need to put your name on the waiting list. We had to wait 45ish minutes downstairs and we drank beer as we waited.“

“We had such a wonderful evening on the patio at the Sterling Lounge inside the Mack Motel in Canmore. I enjoyed the most delicious trout while my husband had the burger, paired with the Bearsbie cocktail and a smoked old fashioned. Our server was absolutely delightful — we actually had her two years in a row, and she even remembered us from our wedding in Canmore last summer 💕💕💕
To top it off, she surprised us with a champagne toast to celebrate our first anniversary. Such a thoughtful touch and incredible service. Highly recommend for both the food and the experience!

“We ordered (ahead of time) some Sri Lankan short-eats and Lamprais from Nalaka and crew at Canmore Shawarma while visiting Banff in July 2024. The food was delicious 👌🏼👌🏼 The rolls had the same Sri Lankan goodness to them. 🤤 The Lamprais was out of this world. 🤩 Everything was made fresh and packed for us. Exceptional customer service by the staff as well. They went above and beyond to accommodate our request to pick up the Lamprais early in the morning on our way, even before the restaurant opened. Nalaka was very responsive on text messages and placing the orders and picking up was a breeze. We will be returning for sure and this will be a regular spot for food everytime we visit Alberta. 😊👍🏻“
