The food the flavors the pairings the combinations of flavors the presentation on top of an atmosphere carefully curated into a cozy lively Japanese style tapas bar with the most stellar customer service from your servers you can't go wrong here, you just can't. My brain had fireworks going off the entire time I was there tasting everything I had ordered from the duck and beef tataki to the 5 assorted sashimi and the aburi saba. It was "chef's kiss". If you're new to Edmonton and love Japanese styled and inspired foods you HAVE TO COME HERE. Reservations highly encouraged we got lucky to get in as quick as we did without one, but this place is VERY popular.“

I have never sat on a more uncomfortable bar stool in my life. Traditional bar stools curve down at the edge, not up, for a reason.“

“Reservation went over the phone like the set up of how they get done, even arrived a bit late but spot was held for a additional 10mins. Sat at bar and was asked within 10mins of waiting so overall great response time and friendly/knowledge staff even new what to pair alcohol with food on a well organized and simple menu for the style of cuisine.
Appetizers well priced and great portions cooked well and elegant in presentation for a nice morden twist on a bar food classic. Main course was a chicken bowel which had heat and refresh or cool down with shredded zucchini to compliment. Will admitt slight down fall on over soy to the white rice base. Still came together in the end with the carrots off to the side again in shredded. Off to dessert. Note staff put a coaster on my drink very appreciated and shows that the bar is eyed out on safety to customers and clients atmosphere is great with play list and lighting even for starting dessert, ask for a drink off the menu and it was made had the b52 and tarmasue with ice cream was great to end the night. Overall good experience and well end. Will return .

“French onion soup was to die for. We got 4 different items from the menu and they were each uniquely different. The server was on the ball for explaining what we were getting, free popcorn with garlic oil and sea salt as a starter. Atmosphere was accommodating and cozy lit with candle. Great to see a FRIENDLY French restaurant with no pomp! Definitely going back but next time will make a reservation as there is limited seating.“

“Pretty decent place to eat. Brought the wife and kids here a number of times. Food has almost always been excellent. Sometimes we've gotten cold food. Only ever had one issue with a waitress. She acted very high and mighty. She wasn't too keen on fixing a mistake on our order. I will say I haven't seen that waitress again so there's that. We will continue to come here from time to time.“

We ordered the steak tartare and scallop ceviche for appetizers and they were fantastic! Honestly could’ve ordered both of them twice and be happy with just that. The main ribeye plate was good but i found the appetizers to be a better experience. Great atmosphere for a date or friendly get together with dark tones and low lighting.“

Service was good but you did not have a dedicated server, so sometimes it was confusing in terms of who you can order from and who you should be asking the bill from, being my first time here.

Cocktails definitely definitely did not disappoint and the snacks were tasty. I did not know that there was a time limit to the reservation, but they were kind and patient in letting me know that I was heading my time limit. Staff was not pushy about this at all.“
