The food the flavors the pairings the combinations of flavors the presentation on top of an atmosphere carefully curated into a cozy lively Japanese style tapas bar with the most stellar customer service from your servers you can't go wrong here, you just can't. My brain had fireworks going off the entire time I was there tasting everything I had ordered from the duck and beef tataki to the 5 assorted sashimi and the aburi saba. It was "chef's kiss". If you're new to Edmonton and love Japanese styled and inspired foods you HAVE TO COME HERE. Reservations highly encouraged we got lucky to get in as quick as we did without one, but this place is VERY popular.“

I have been hitting up different Mexican food places across the province to find some of the best, this is one of them. So glad it is so close to home! “Had one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time! The bread was perfectly fresh, the chicken was juicy, and every ingredient tasted high quality. The combination of crispy bacon, melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion was absolutely spot on. Even the fries were fantastic and paired perfectly with the sandwich.

You can tell a lot of care goes into the food here. Generous portions, great flavors, and everything was made fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m craving an amazing sandwich.“

“The vibe of this restaurant was excellent. It was filled with vintage electronics, including old TVs, video game consoles, and music players, which gave the place a very unique atmosphere. I also really enjoyed the food.

The only downside was that the restaurant was difficult to find. There is no clear sign outside, and the entrance is just a small door that is easy to miss.“

“Yesterday was the second time we ate at Dosc, and the food was quite good both times. The kale salad is excellent, and the ingredients pair well. I also love kale and wish more restaurants would use it.

I know nothing about poutine, so I found the number of cheese curds in the Oxtail Poutine was sufficient. The gravy was well-seasoned and not watery, as some have claimed, and the braised oxtail was delicious. Oxtail is expensive to buy now, and you have to braise it for 12 hours, so why not enjoy it here?

The Brussels sprouts with a black garlic emulsion were good; however, the agave's sweetness could be dialled back a bit, in my opinion.

The Picana steak was truly the star of the evening. It was beautifully cooked, nicely seasoned, and well-rested. It was a bit tough in a couple of places, but otherwise every bite melted in my mouth with a big, beefy flavour. It's truly a must-have dish at a reasonable price. It is nice to see this restaurant serving a flavorful butcher cut instead of the usual suspects: bland-tasting strip loins, ribeyes, and top sirloins.

Service from the bartender was excellent. I am only giving three stars for atmosphere because there are usually large parties of VERY loud people who seem to want the entire restaurant to hear their voices, laughter and clapping. They can drown out a couple here on date night, and there were quite a few that evening. I appreciate the hosts moving us to the bar, as our original table was beside one of these boisterous groups, and we would not have enjoyed the evening.“

“Exceptional service, as if they are all in sync with one another and yet still super personable and disarming towards us. I really hope they are paid above and beyond because wow!

We have been here twice, once for an event, and another for date night. The date night was better. I recall three dishes being the most memorable, so much so that I told many people about it!

1. The phyllo cheese cake. Part of me wishes I hadn’t ever ordered it because even months later, I’m still tortured by my cravings for it. Please do not change it !! I left wanting it for my wedding cake, no jokes!

2. Whipped Mashed Potatoes. YUM. Just yum. Can’t remember any other sides because this one stood out far too much. Found ourselves making more room for it over our mains. Is it gone??? Please no…

3. Rib eye steak. One night it was the best steak I had ever had… told my dad he HAD to go there. Second time … disappointing. Not disappointing enough to send back, but just.. meh. Took a long time to chew and wasn’t nearly as flavourful. Which is the reason for the 4 star. It’s pretty imperative for a place like this to be consistently more then just “meh” for steaks.

Drinks: We were able to try a variety of drinks. My favourite was the French 75, and for my partner it was the smoked old fashioned. The Moscow mule was good too, as well as some other hard alcoholic cocktail, but I regret I can’t recall it. The Malbec and the maple old fashioned were just okay.

Writing this review, my partner and I have decided to schedule another visit this week.“
