“10/5 would eat here all day every day if I could afford to LOL. My mind was blown at all that was on offer. Whoever your chefs are my hats off to them. The food the flavors the pairings the combinations of flavors the presentation on top of an atmosphere carefully curated into a cozy lively Japanese style tapas bar with the most stellar customer service from your servers you can't go wrong here, you just can't. My brain had fireworks going off the entire time I was there tasting everything I had ordered from the duck and beef tataki to the 5 assorted sashimi and the aburi saba. It was "chef's kiss". If you're new to Edmonton and love Japanese styled and inspired foods you HAVE TO COME HERE. Reservations highly encouraged we got lucky to get in as quick as we did without one, but this place is VERY popular.“

“My boyfriend and I were visiting Edmonton from out of town in October of 2025. I used to live there and attended UofA, so we got an AirBnB in the area. Before we went to a show at Midway Music Hall, I wanted to walk down Whyte Ave to reminisce and get some food. My boyfriend is a celiac, and a taco enthusiast, so we wanted to find a place that met both of these needs. Marlo Tacos met and exceeded our expectations!

We didn't have a reservation and it was quite busy when we arrived. It isn't a huge space, but they have the tables well set up to utilize it. We managed to get one of the last tables in the place, and I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere, food and drinks were all amazing, and our server was so nice. It was nostalgic for me, having lived there a decade ago, as I got to watch people walking around in an area I've spent tons of time in the past. I also remember when the venue used to be a clothing shop!

The server was attentive and happy to confirm the options were gluten free for my boyfriend. We really appreciated the attention to detail and extra care. It means a lot! I will recommend this place to my family and friends who still live in Edmonton, and will be happy to return when next I visit there!“

Only complaint is that each time I go the service is always slow and the staff sometimes isn't the friendliest.“

“Had one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time! The bread was perfectly fresh, the chicken was juicy, and every ingredient tasted high quality. The combination of crispy bacon, melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion was absolutely spot on. Even the fries were fantastic and paired perfectly with the sandwich.

You can tell a lot of care goes into the food here. Generous portions, great flavors, and everything was made fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m craving an amazing sandwich.“

“Happy hour is amazing! 3-6pm great place to duck in out of the heat on a Saturday afternoon. Ribs and garlic knots are delicious. The Scona Ruby is a very tasty red ale.“

Really loved the food options, complimentary popcorn with their special flavour, and very sharable plates. They have an expanding cocktail menu and an online option to view some of their past cocktails.“

“The vibe of this restaurant was excellent. It was filled with vintage electronics, including old TVs, video game consoles, and music players, which gave the place a very unique atmosphere. I also really enjoyed the food.

The only downside was that the restaurant was difficult to find. There is no clear sign outside, and the entrance is just a small door that is easy to miss.“

“Honestly, this is got to be one of the best meals we have had in Edmonton and we have been dining at some great spots for over 20 years. The cocktails are phenomenal and unique. The smell of the restaurant alone is so aromatic and calming and interesting. The seating is comfortable. It's a smaller space so you get a lot of care attention from the staff. We had the steak and salmon for our mains and when I say that salmon melted in my mouth, I am not kidding. We will be going back to try the duck and the gnocchi.“

“Ella was an amazing server and had great recommendations about the menu. The portions were also quite large, especially the appetizers. The brussel sprouts were amazing, as were the cocktails.
The steak I got was very tough and chewy; the fat was barely edible, which is why I'm taking a star off. My BF's was much better than mine so luckily I got a bite of that, but mine was supposed to be medium rare and it def was not.
Lastly, they really went out of their way in the environment of the place. Not only is the interior really contemporary but cozy, the bathrooms are awesome, we love a bidet. Will be back to try other dishes“

“My boyfriend and I had booked a table for Valentine’s Day and they sat us at the bar to wait since we arrived earlier. After we were sat at our table we waited about 20 minutes, but every table except ours was checked on. We flagged down one of the waitresses, Mariana, to ask if we could order and it seemed as if there was a mix up for which section we belonged to. She was very apologetic and the service after that was amazing. The food came out fast and she was very attentive, knowledgeable and charismatic. This was May24, 2026. Didnt catch their names sorry. Its my first time in the area and the patio/rooftop vibe of this place is impeccable! 10/5! They however dont have a lot of options for food. Definitely coming back especially at night! Date night! Had 2 mocktails as i wanna stay sober and both of them are really good! Also had a churro which is meh but whatever. Recommend!“
