Was not aware that it was buffet only until we arrived. The menu looks amazing, but because of a conference/group event, only buffet was offered. Mediocre, but everything was fresh.
Breakfast at The Flying Machine Restaurant
Which is inside The Lakefront Restaurant next to Lake hook off Spenard Road
Plenty of room and quiet on this New Years Day
I chose the Kodiak Crab and Shrim Omelet added mushrooms and bacon! Had a decent crab flavor but was more like a canned crab which doesn't showcase Alaskan Crab, I was hoping nice chunks like from leg pieces and such also the Shrimp were small like salad canned shrimp 🍤. Overall a good dish...read full review

Flying Machine Restaurant offers a beautiful ambiance with a spectacular view of the lake, making it the best place to eat at the Lakefront Anchorage hotel. The Alaskan breakfast and Seafood Benedict are highly recommended for a filling meal with lots of options. The Seafood Benedict features salmon, shrimp, crab, and a light hollandaise sauce, paired with perfectly seasoned crispy potatoes. The staff is friendly, and the customer service is great. While the prices for items like hot tea may be high, the reasonable drink prices and solid food combined with the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful views make it worth a visit. Guests can enjoy watching planes take off and land on the water while dining.
