“Great Alaskan/seasonal flavors. They understand what it takes to be an ice cream shop that pulls in customers. They did have one basic Vanilla flavor, after that everything was either seasonal or made with Alaskan ingredients. Their menu was chocfull of non dairy and vegan friendly items for those who need those considerations.“

“This was my first time going and I made a reservation to celebrate an anniversary. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and seemed clean, although it was a bit loud since the tables are kind of close together. Our server was outstanding and very knowledgeable about the menu. The General Tao'anders chicken was spectacular and my boyfriend and I agreed it was some of the best chicken we'd ever had! The drunken noodles were less stellar (a little too salty) but still good. I indicated on the reservation that it was our anniversary, and the manager was kind enough to provide us with a complimentary dessert that was as delicious as it was pleasing to look at. We'll definitely be returning!“

“Not only does Yak and Yeti have fantastic (!) food, but it serves as a pillar of community on the West side of Anchorage. They employ lots of high school and college students, and the owner is incredibly supportive of young people pursuing their dreams. Oftentimes you'll find information about local scholarships and other opportunities printed out at the front counter. I study there every week and look forward to interacting with the staff, who make an effort to remember details about me. One time the owner even told me to put my phone down from across the restaurant when he knew I had an exam to be studying for. This restaurant and the people who run it are very special. If Yak and Yeti has 1 fan it's me, and if they have 0 fans I'm dead!!“

“I’m not a fan of sushi but ReHaru is where my granddaughter wanted to go for her birthday lunch. The atmosphere was delightful and the food was excellent! Our server was full of personality and provided excellent service which earned him a very generous tip (60%). I highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in Anchorage!“

“I was excited to try Xalos after reading all of the positive reviews. My California burrito tasted good but the carne asada was pretty tough and some of the listed ingredients were hard to find.

I was also let down when I learned that you cannot customize your burrito at all and they don't have a salsa bar. How can you serve chips without salsa and then charge $6 for a small side of salsa? 🙄

I'll come back some time to try the birria tacos... but I'll probably stick to Qdoba or Taco King next time I'm looking for a burrito.“

“Great restaurant and even better since being taken over by new owners. Classic dishes like Vegan High Protein Wrap as delicious as ever, delicious soups of the day, and nice big portions. Everything tastes so nutritious and satisfying, fresh ingredients and great flavor. Really nice staff as well. Their smoothies are excellent. Great spot with food that makes you feel good. “Wilbert was great! He’s built for customer service and actually turned our opinions around. We came on a Saturday, it was 6pm and the store closed at 7, the seats were up and when we asked if we could sit instore and eat she informed us that the seats we’re “up for the night”. The food was good but customer service lacked, not sure if the young woman was having a bad day or something, but she wasn’t too personable or interactive. Wilbert was inviting, open and positive personality, and the pitas were amazing!! He asked if we’d like to try a sauce and actually helped orientate the menu a little more efficiently. This was my second time coming in, we were hesitant, but thankful we did cuz it was a great experience

However- I'm curious why, when showing a PG movie, Beartooth shows trailers for R-rated films? I Would love to see this changed, and my kids would love to see this changed.“

“First, I have to say that the owner is one of the friendliest people ever. He was consistently checking in, chatting, and making sure that we had a good experience. My husband joked that he came all the way to Alaska for a Chicago dog, but it was on the menu. I thought the fries were great. We almost skipped over this place but it was one of the best deals and experiences eating in Anchorage.“

“Just grabbed a quick breakfast from this establishment, and I was blown away! The quality and the quantity for the price is a STEAL.

It is a small cafeteria style cafe in a large business building, but don’t let the atmosphere fool you. This place is a gem.

The chef, Malcolm, was too cool. He was very welcoming and friendly. He had a great attitude and the man gets down on the grill/griddle. I ordered a build your own breakfast burrito, with bacon and jalapeños, and it was hands down one the best I’ve ever had. The tortilla was even grill to delicious texture.

If and when we’re back in Anchorage, we’ll definitely be back.

“For saving the people of Anchorage with something near authentic this place is phenomenal. Does it stack up to Cali Mex or Tex Mex... surprisingly almost. I'm very happy this place exists and their burritos are huge. They used to have better tacos but they still have some birria tacos and other traditional style, but not things like lengua anymore. Their portions are generous and the salsas are fantastic. They have begun to cater to the northern American pallet so you can find things like that taco shell salad and honestly I see that and immediately think red flag. Haha, if you like that though then there you go. It's got the Cali taco shop feel in a way and the Atmosphere is actually classy and nice. It's cashier service but they are always nice when I go. Some of the meals come with chips and some don't. Shout out to their California burrito as it's definitely one of the closet I have ever found outside of California. This place may not quite be a true 5 but for the area and all a 4 is undeserving as well.“
