Timberline Bar & Grill Reviews
The server was so high she couldn't even get us water. I waited 30 minutes before finally going and finding a water pitcher myself. When my friend finally got her iced tea she asked for sugar. After 15 minutes I had to go find sugar for our table too. The food was not well cooked and way overpriced. This was my third attempt in 5 years to eat here and it just keeps getting worse.

The Timberline Bar & Grill, perched atop Mount Roberts in Juneau, offers a memorable dining experience with stunning views of the Gastineau Channel, Juneau, and Douglas Island. Guests can indulge in a variety of dishes, including the highly recommended Alaskan-style nachos. The restaurant features Alaskan native art and totems, creating an impressive and inviting atmosphere. Accessible via the Goldbelt Tram or a hike, it operates seasonally from 8-9 during the summer months. The menu includes American food, seafood, and vegetarian options, catering to families and tourists alike. The outdoor patio presents beautiful views of the Gastineau Channel and mountain waterfalls. There is also a gift shop and clean restrooms. Guests order food from a printed menu at the counter and pay before eating, with table service and self-serve condiments available. Popular items include chili bread bowls, chicken teriyaki sandwich, and fish and chips. The atmosphere is charming, and the tram ride enhances the overall experience. The restaurant also features live music and private events during the season. However, customers have noted that menu prices have increased significantly, with the classic hamburger now costing $21.75 as of July 2024. While the food quality has received praise, some reviews mention that the prices may not align with expectations, especially for items like the crab nachos, which are served on a large platter. Despite some concerns about pricing, the overall experience is still considered worthwhile, especially after a hike to reach the location.
