“My family was visiting Talkeenta and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here on our last day. Spinach bread, Blueberry Rhubarb Crisp, Breakfast burritos, Brazilian Limeade, and coffee. The food was amazing and my husband said it was the best cup of coffee he had had in forever. I wish we would have gotten some of the spinach bread take and bake for the road! I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!”

“Can't say enough good things about this stop. The people are great and the food is fresh and fantastic! My wife and I have had much of the food on their menu (always good) but today we tried the loaded sausage wrap (breakfast burrito). All I can say was that it was amazing! Highly recommend.”

“I stopped by the Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe for the first time yesterday and picked out the sparkling rhubarb ade and the “trust my, I’m vegan” sandwich. I liked how bubbly the drink was and the sandwich was so good with all the veggies and hummus. I also really liked how colorful it was.”

“Fun environment, great pizza-- personal size, and a great selection of beer for every drinker. They always have a sour or two or mixed cocktail. The Denali spirits are one of the few reasons I visit. Huge selection from the gift shop as well : T-shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, cups, tumblers, coasters, etc. The staff is amazing as well and fast. I remember last spring we went in and they ran short of one drumstick and he offered to buy my boyfriend and I a whole other round ! Great people and great place, and also across the street from the bike path.. so manageable for visitors as well!”

“They family was so nice! We loved eating at Annie’s kitchen next to the tent and enjoyed the waffle hot dogs & pulled pork sandwiches with ice cream! Family owned business and we love the ornaments we bought hand made from local birch wood tree bark! These were $25 & $35 on the pricey side but handmade and local.”

“I really don’t think it’s just that we were winter camping, that was the best bagel I’ve had (Parmesan) with chive garlic cream cheese, and excellent hot chocolate. The barista was so kind and even gave us a biscuit for our dog!!”

“10/10! We traveled to several cities throughout Alaska, and all 3 of us agreed this place had the best food. It’s a quaint, small spot and our bartender/server was running it by herself. The wait was well worth it. It’s a very laid back/casual spot.”

“I discovered Kahiltna Bistro in Talkeetna, Alaska, while doing a virtual tour, and I've definitely added it to my list for a future visit! The place has a cozy atmosphere that seems perfect for relaxing after exploring the town. The dishes on the menu look delicious, with fresh ingredients and flavors that showcase the best of the region. Plus, I've read that the staff is very friendly, which is always a bonus.
