“I had the cabeza tacos and they were the best I have ever had. I have tried a majority of the taco trucks in Birmingham. The tortillas were crisp and the green sauce that came with it was absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to try the shrimp quesadilla and other menu items!“
“Tacos: because it's Tuesday somewhere. I love a good meal from a taqueria about as much as I love a night out at a fancy restaurant. The experience is different, but the level of deliciousness is on par. Since there was SEC football to be watched Saturday night, we were in the mood to hit a taqueria & enjoy the evening at home. I found Taqueria Charros on Yelp. They stood out to me due to their 4.9/5 stars & outstanding reviews. So to Hoover we went.We had to try the tacos, of course. We got an asada & al pastor taco. I'm usually an al pastor kind of gal, but the asada was the star here. Absolutely bursting with flavor & so tender. The reviews I read raved about the asada & I see why. The al pastor was also excellent & very tender...but the asada had a slight edge. I would order both again.We also ordered Huaraches, which I've never had before. It featured cheese, beans, lettuce, avocado, onion, sour cream, cilantro on fried masa dough & I chose cabeza as the meat. Where has this dish been all my life?! Absolutely delightful! The fried masa dough is a bit more thick than a tortilla. It's soft on the inside & nice & crisp on the outside. The cabeza meat was extraordinary. Buttery & savory. This could possibly be my new fav taqueria dish.We also ordered a chicken burrito featuring cheese, beans, rice, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushroom, lettuce & cilantro. The chicken was amazing. It packed a tiny bit of heat which was nice.The dishes are served with red & green salsas. The red is pretty hot & was the one I preferred. It was too hot for my wife, but she enjoyed the mild green one.Taqueria Charros is PHENOMENAL! Though this was our 1st visit they're seriously in my top 3 favorite taquerias. “It's rare when you encounter great service, good food, and follow up to an order.The Birria Tacos were 4 stars by itself. The crispiness of the tortilla, the meat was tender along with cilantro and onion. Be sure to add some lime and sauce. The red sauce is spicy and the green is a milder level of heat. Either sauce you choose, will add the heat level to yourtaco.The consome (soup), brings the taco to another level and for the case of ratings to five stars. Its adds a savory pack of flavor. Adding squirts of lime juice to the consome added a citrus tone to the savory soup.We tried both w/cheese and without. As for flavor, it did not add or take away from the savory flavors of the Birria Taco.The price of the Birria taco was $4. If you buy 2 or more tacos the consome is included. If you love tacos this is the spot to get your fill. The tacos are just as affordable as a fast food meal but tastier with fresh ingredients. Just a tip, bring cash, there's a fee for card users.“
“Fantastic burria tacos right in Calera at the Citgo gas station! Off to the left hand side if you're facing the gas station from the main road (31), and at the intersection of 31 & 22. Delicious, fried on the flat top. I ordered mild, and this delicious au jus to dip the tacos into!!! Yummy!!!I highly recommend them!!!“
“I would highly recommend Lupita’s to anyone! This was the 2nd time I have been and I had a great experience both times. I got a chicken, cheese, and jalapeño stuffed pupusa the first time and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. Their tacos de pastor are also perfectly spiced and the fresh purple onions on top made them even more flavorful. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!“
“I've been to all the major three taco places, taco bell, taco mama and del taco, but I guess I can add this one to my list as well but it's more like a dinner restaurant to me then anything, sorta like another taco mama.Service: Extraordinary, the waiter was very pleasing to talk to, fulfilled our orders quickly and efficiently, you can ensure you're at good hands once you got yourselves a waiter, I kinda just wish that when you go in restaurants, you can pick where you wanna sit, but oh well ?Atmosphere: There are TV's everywhere, I mean everywhere. They love sports, they have a bar so you can drink, they seem to have wooden materials for some of their seats which is different from a lot of restaurants but I respect the change. The tall chairs I was in were very comfortable, everybody is so packed together. “Since moving to Alabaster I have been incredibly disappointed with the Mexican food in the area. I finally figured out I just need to go to the trucks in the area or to Pelham. This is by far my favorite little place to eat by me if I'm craving some tacos.“
