Soul food can be had here, but it’s not worth the waiting and drive from Hoover. Being from New Orleans my wife’s cooking has more flavor, but when you just don’t feel like cooking, this can be a good substitute, if you don’t mind waiting.
Went here for the first time today for lunch. I had the 3-sides plate with collard greens, mac & cheese, and dressing. My husband had fried catfish, yams, and potato salad. Both came with a cornbread muffin. Everything was delicious! The owner/chef/server (he was the only one working and was doing all the jobs!) was friendly. Walked in, only person there! I was shocked, this was a Friday afternoon. I looked at the menu and for some reason i looked up the reviews on Google I saw several people saying there food tasted pre-cooked and refrigerated like it had just been microwaved!! Macaroni tasted sour ?♂️ I left and didn't turn back lol! No ty! Sad I didn't get any soul food that day ?
