“Very good Mexican food. The service is either very good or not great at all. It really depends on which young lady is working the window that day. One will offer you extra napkins and salsa. The other will snatch the money or card out of your hand or charge you a dollar for an extra cup of salsa.“
“Omg. Where to start!!!! This place is just unbelievably awesome. My recommendation.Do me a favor!!If you are into spicy foods, then please ask for a Burrito with the red spicy tortilla filled with steak and chorizo all the way. You will thank me later. ?“
“Went to a food truck near the Galleria on John Hawkins and was told there was something wrong with the grill but come to find out the girl just didn’t want to cook in the heat for a small order. Well, THANK YOU for turning me away because I discovered this food truck and man is it delicious!! Just Wish it was closer to me. I’d probably be there every other day!!“
“They are a small business food truck that demonstrates nothing but exemplary customer service. My husband went by while they were in Helena for their to die for peach crumble. They were out of the dessert but they offered to make half a pan for us and said they will have it ready the next day at their next location at Shelby Baptist. I went by to pick it up and not only did they have it ready but they brought it out to me at my car. They are such nice people and I’m very happy at the customer service they display. Let’s support Battle Axe and I urge you to make it a point to go by and try all of their scrumptious food. Thank you Battle Axe.“
“We went to Rails & Ales in Leeds to try Simones Kitchen, I'm a huge "food truck" follower. Well, it was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Cajun Trio Pasta, The LBC Fries, Buffalo Egg Rolls... it just kept getting better & better. Waited less than 10 minutes, we WILL be back. 100% amazing! Thx so much! ?“
“This is the BEST food truck in the city. Period. I've been going here for 10+ years and this is some of the tastiest food you'll find in all of Birmingham. Do not be fooled by the low prices - this is high-quality, fresh food you will love. Also don't be scared by some of the more exotic choices on the menu. My favorite taco is tripa (cow intestine) which I avoided for years because I wasn't comfortable with the idea of eating it. What a mistake that was! Dos Hermanos is amazing. Don't miss it.“
“This was like the fourth taco place I drove to on a Monday night and it was the only one open. I’ve driven by this place a lot and never gotten food here. I’m so glad I did! Service was amazing and fast. I got three tacos for under $10. The flavor was better than the surrounding taco trucks. I will be coming back! Also one of the only places I’ve ever been too that automatically gives you a cactus and onion side that is very unique.“
“I'm not the kind of guy that likes to eat the same thing twice in a row. I crave variety like it's sold on street corners, so believe it when I tell you this place is special. I've eaten the same dish for dinner twice in a row because it was just too good. (Cabeza burrito)It's got mostly the options you'd expect from a Taco truck, but some that stand out as novel, too. I've had most anything on a Mexican restaurant menu before, but I've never had Tlacoyos before. They look like tacos with the tortillas fried, in the picture; trust me, I'm gonna try them soon. I mean, my girlfriend is the type to call black pepper spicy, and googles the ingredients before they'll eat them, and she STILL got the lengua! Twice!Listen, I mean what is there to dislike about this place other than the parking? As of March 2024, it's situated near Maya, the Mexican restaurant on Oxmoor Rd, off Green Springs, in a lot that gets pretty crowded quick. An hour or less till closing and they're packed, so try to come a little earlier if you want to find parking. They're lightning fast in that truck! I had my burrito in less than 10 minutes, and some of that time was us ordering. Incredible food, very friendly staff, and a mostly convenient location. You're making a terrible mistake if you don't come get you some. ¡Buen provecho!Parking: Parking lot, but it's got a building that's being worked on, so it might look sketchy at first. Trust, it's fine. They are super worth the tight right turn.Kid-friendliness: There's no dining in, so kids are fine if they don't run into the road or something.Wheelchair accessibility: Fairly flat ground, no need for a ramp. The exits from the lot are doable, but they are quite a dip.“
“Such a great experience and very kid/pet friendly environment. I always get overwhelmed taking my child and dog out in public places like this but the staff, specifically Harper made us feel right at home. Not to be mention the great selection of beer. 10/10 will definitely be returning.“
“Back in town for a few days and tried Granny's. It was a great decision. the food is really really good. I love the talapia plate and my wife loves the grits with shrimp sausage or bacon. They open up on Thursdays and you should do yourself the favor of stopping by.“
“The food is absolutely amazing. The chicken tacos are phenomenal. I’ve visited the food truck twice and we’ve had them cater for the college championship and the Super Bowl. Everything is fresh and flavorful. 10/10 easily ! Keep up the good work !“
“Tacos: because it's Tuesday somewhere. I love a good meal from a taqueria about as much as I love a night out at a fancy restaurant. The experience is different, but the level of deliciousness is on par. Since there was SEC football to be watched Saturday night, we were in the mood to hit a taqueria & enjoy the evening at home. I found Taqueria Charros on Yelp. They stood out to me due to their 4.9/5 stars & outstanding reviews. So to Hoover we went.We had to try the tacos, of course. We got an asada & al pastor taco. I'm usually an al pastor kind of gal, but the asada was the star here. Absolutely bursting with flavor & so tender. The reviews I read raved about the asada & I see why. The al pastor was also excellent & very tender...but the asada had a slight edge. I would order both again. We also ordered Huaraches, which I've never had before. It featured cheese, beans, lettuce, avocado, onion, sour cream, cilantro on fried masa dough & I chose cabeza as the meat. Where has this dish been all my life?! Absolutely delightful! The fried masa dough is a bit more thick than a tortilla. It's soft on the inside & nice & crisp on the outside. The cabeza meat was extraordinary. Buttery & savory. This could possibly be my new fav taqueria dish.We also ordered a chicken burrito featuring cheese, beans, rice, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushroom, lettuce & cilantro. The chicken was amazing. It packed a tiny bit of heat which was nice. The dishes are served with red & green salsas. The red is pretty hot & was the one I preferred. It was too hot for my wife, but she enjoyed the mild green one.Taqueria Charros is PHENOMENAL! Though this was our 1st visit they're seriously in my top 3 favorite taquerias. Service was very friendly. Absolutely give this place a try. I know we will without a doubt be back soon! 2963 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover 35210 Chevron parking lot.“
“This place is amazing. I had just gone to Lowes and I was about to go to Eugene's, but before I could drive out I saw this food truck in front of me and it had like 2 people in line, so I thought, I should try it out and I'm so glad I did. This place has a very diverse menu so there will be sonething for everyone but I got the Steak Tacos and when I opened my box, I was blown away! It looked so good that I didn't even want to eat it, but when I finally ate it, I was blown away. It was truly, delicious“
“Look.. I have never tasted such divine in my life service felt like family, they cared about me and the timing of the food was everything, patience is virtue people. I tell you this, check out this Food Truck and I speak LIFE into them getting a venue/restaurant. You will not be disappointed at any of the items. If I Was a billionaire. This will be my breakfast, lunch and dinner? ? Thank y’all again so much for taking care of my belly and my health. Lol. Love Yall Personalities, yall be Bussin. One Love,TinTin X“
“The best wings and quesadillas from a food truck I’ve ever had. The sides are crazy big and can all be loaded up with toppings. My wife loves the okra and hot lemon pepper catfish. The Jamaican Jerk wings were excellent fried extra crispy. Philly cheese sandwich and quesadilla were perfect.“
“I would highly recommend Lupita’s to anyone! This was the 2nd time I have been and I had a great experience both times. I got a chicken, cheese, and jalapeño stuffed pupusa the first time and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. Their tacos de pastor are also perfectly spiced and the fresh purple onions on top made them even more flavorful. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!“
“I eat here a few times a week. They season the quesadillas flour tortilla that’s grilled perfectly and has a crispness to it. Tacos are fantastic! The staff is always friendly and smiling. Seriously, this is great food.Tried sopes here (not for me) and I prefer the chicken over the steak. ?“
“they were at Lowe's in Homewood today for Pro Appreciation. tried the cheese burger and it was absolutely fantastic. the flavor in the burger and the melted cheese was a perfect combination. the seasoning on the fries has me wanting more. highly recommend“
