“Probably the best fried chicken place in Harpersville. I say that jokingly because it’s one of the only chicken places in Harpersville however it’s a great addition and I’m so glad that it’s here. As a big fan of Popeyes chicken I can say that the food is always delicious and always consistent with that served at other Popeyes locations. What makes this location even more special is the staff. Their bright smiles and warm hearted welcomes as we come into the door. They were kind and patient while we looked over the menu and we’re available to answer questions or provide assistance when needed. I am very grateful for the experience that they provided and highly recommend this location to anyone, and cannot wait to return.”

“Stopped by drive through today and a beautiful young lady...TaLayla (may have misspelled) took my order and was the most patient and kind person while I pondered the menu and was as nice at the pick up window. I was indecisive and she didn't mind at all. She didn't rush me! I wanted to give a big shout out to such a kind soul. Rare to experience such great customer service these days.”

“We went today September 14 as it was the first day to reopen the buffet since the Covid mess caused them to have to close the buffet and it again was not a let down. The food was great as well as the service. It is a joy to go to this restaurant. If you haven’t tried it or have been when the buffet was open before, then you need to head back, they have it up and going again. ❤️❤️”

“Ok while the donuts (ones they have) are good & so are the other items. BUT the customer service is NOT good, there is no “Good morning, Thank you, or come back to see us” nothing! No personality it seems. Also the selection is no where near what the menu is. I’ve been several times lately and they have 3 different flavors of donuts. Please don’t have a menu if you don’t have the items. Just my opinion. Like I said the items they have are great! I know this is a very mixed review.”

“We ordered a cake for my mom’s 80th birthday. The cake was beautiful and the taste was amazing!!! Words cannot express how much we appreciate the flavor of REAL ICING! AND A MOIST CAKE!!! “Best bar and restaurant on Logan Martin Lake. Hours are limited except on the weekend. Inside is old school bar with comfortable seating. Kid friendly until night when it goes 18 and up. The chef is wonderful at creating delicious seafood and chicken dishes along with a very solid steak sandwich. My favorite dish is the fried shrimp dinner the shrimp is done tempura style and is such a nice change of pace from heavier fried food at most places in town. They also have a full bar and a good beer selection. Table service inside and outside on the lovely patio that gives you a great view to watch boats motor by. Everyone from the staff to the crowd is friendly and welcoming so don't let the exterior put you off. The location is down by the damn and easy to get to on the water. Via land it's a bit of a haul if you are in Pell City but I think well worth it.

Parking: During summer you can tie your boat up. Coming via car decent sized lot in front of building but can get crowded. It's on a narrow peninsula so watch your tires if parking on street its a drop on the sides.

Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and a kids menu.”

“We love Golden Star in this house! My family and I agree that if there's one thing you have to try, it's the Hot & Sour soup! Plus, they're always so sweet when we come to pick up our orders, and you can tell they really care about how their customer base feels.”

“One of the worst meals I've ever eaten and the biggest waste of money. First we were overcharged. Had to get that corrected. Told a 25 min wait on food. 48 mins later we got our food. The pork, chicken bbq, and burgers were all dry. Fries are terrible. One of the bbq Sauce taste like Kraft. Found 2 hairs in 2 of our meals. The "smoked" chicken doesn't taste smoked at all. It was cooked on the grill. Both chicken and burger was full of gristle. My 9 year old wouldn't even eat his food. We will never be back.”
