“Wow the reviews weren't kidding, this really is the best restaurant in Homewood, Alabama.Service: As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and they were very friendly, welcoming and felt at ease. They bring you your food when it is ready and you are not rushed/pressured on the menu.Menu: They have LOTS to choose from, the name suggests because it is a deli ? salads, sandwiches, burgers, sides, wraps, etc. I got myself a mushroom and swiss burger, it looks so much like Five Guys but maybe that's just me ? the fries are top notch too, with the seasoning being the icing on top.Atmosphere: They have an outdoor patio, but if you're feeling chilly, they always have an area with a couple heaters, just about what you would expect from a restaurant.Overall, this is a must-go when it comes to food, definitely going back whenever I have the chance. Also, apologies for the one blurry photo. ?“

“The lamb and chicken shawerma took my heart back to Cairo. Both sandwiches were a steal as the ingredients were top-notch quality. This place rivals the shawarma of Cairo and Madinah ( both having the BEST in the world). The garlic sauce has the perfect texture and the bread is that perfect chewiness. I cannot recommend this small sandwich joint any higher. I also had the kunafa….rivals that of my own home!!“

“I have been here twice. The first time I had southern style lunch and it was pretty good. The second time I had a gyro and it was fair, just fair. Nothing special and certainly not the best gyro I have ever had. The other person with me had chicken and the seasoning was not to either of our liking. The ckicken smelled ok, but not particularly drawing.“

“This is my favorite restaurant to grab lunch from in Birmingham. This location is only a few minutes walk from the medical district. My go-to order is the falafel wrap with hummus, Jerusalem salad, lettuce, and onions. I drench mine in hot sauce, but be careful, it is really really spicy. I used to get a pita, but it always ripped apart and made a mess while I was eating it. The restaurant gets really busy during lunch hour, but the line moves very fast. The staff is also very friendly. I wish this restaurant was open for longer hours. They opened a second location in Hoover, but it just doesn't taste the same.“

“For this review, I am looking at Naji's Pita Gourmet Restaurant! This place serves Lebanese food (and let me tell you, I haven't had such great food since I was actually in Lebanon!!). The location is in its own building on the side of a road and is a classic case of a cozy, delicious hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing, and the restaurant was very clean! Furthermore, this is a family-owned business, so it has all the character and personality one could wish for. Regarding service, the staff were quick and helpful, and they walked me through the menu and what I should order. For the food, I can easily say it is among the best Lebanese food in Birmingham! I ordered the Kafta Platter (which was recommended), the Hummus appetizer (which comes with pita), the Baklava (for desert), and Najjar coffee. Everything I ordered tasted amazing (as it reminded me of my time in Lebanon), had a reasonable cost, and complimented the overall meal experience. Due to the quality of my food, the service, and the location, I will 100% be coming back here again and recommend this as a stop for a high-quality lunch!“

“Hanging out in Birmingham, AL on business for a few weeks and it's lunch time! How good can the Mediterranean be in Alabama of all places? Well, let's fine out!Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the corner of 20th Street South and 10th Avenue is this gem. It's well presented and looks super inviting. There is parking for a few cars in the front, but if I can remember there are more spots in the back or else, just park on the street since this is pretty close to downtown. Once inside the restaurant is pretty chill. There's LOTS of artwork hung up all over the place with plenty of straight up & down wooden booths to sit in. Once you walk in you can actually walk right up to a counter to place your order or you can choose table service of course. It was pretty chill in here the time that we came.Service: Service was just fine. Nothing crazy and he made sure that I had everything that I needed.Food: For my entree I went with the Shish Combo which comes with a shish kabob made of beef, shish tawook made of chicken and one kafta which is ground lamb, parsley and onion then served with a salad. Of course there's rice on the side. Everything was delicious, juicy, loaded with flavor and it felt authentic. The lamb was a lil' dry, but that was my only complaint. I loved the food here and it was SUPER filling for sure.Value: Back when I visited this combo was $28.59, but now it's $30.00. Not bad at all. Like I said, the food was filling so you could get more than one meal out of it and it was absolutely worth it.I'd certainly pay this place a return visit if I'm in the area. You should too!“
