“Edit - We only tried one dish but will go back to try others. - My daughter and I were craving homemade tamales so we stopped by to see if they had any to sell. I speak a little Spanish but get nervous trying to speak conversationally. The lady who was working suggested the translation app and we were able to get it done. She was extremely nice and helpful. The store was clean and neat. We are both new to the different varieties and styles of tamales and we really wanted El Salvador style tamales. We ordered tamales and they were wrapped in a green plant leaf, not a corn husk. The masa was delicious but I didn't like the flavor the green leaves gave them. The inside was good but too spicy for my taste. We will definitely go back and try a different dish and get some fresh bread. The location is off the main streets and the signs are all in Spanish but do not let that stop you from giving this mom and pop bakery a try. They are extremely kind and helpful and I can't wait to go back.“

“You know when you’re driving on the interstate and you see a sign for a random restaurant or sweet shop and know it’s probably not worth the stop, this is NOT that place. Pull over, go out of your way if you have to for this pie shop. Every pie we tried was so good. Unique flavors you haven’t tried and then classics done right. A perfectly sweet, slightly tart key lime pie, a lemon mousse that’s like consuming a cloud, a peach buttermilk pie not even your grandma could make. Mike has a gift and that gift comes in the form of pie. Allison who helped us at the counter was probably the nicest person ever and will restore your faith in the fact that good customer service exists. Pies by Mike will be on every pit stop on any road trip here on out.“

“I placed my first order with Gema's, I ordered different varieties of their cupcakes and as I went in to pick up the place is so pretty and they are so friendly and welcoming. The cupcakes are not only huge but beautiful and taste as good as they look! I highly recommend Gema's!!“

It's hard to believe someone would take the time to write a negative review because they cut into a chocolate cake and found only the icing was chocolate.My granny use to make a chocolate cake that was so close to Sue's chocolate cake that I'm thinking Sue and I must be related somehow. ?Unbelievable, I've tried three different flavors so far. The only thing I don't like is I'm bound to be adding some pounds as long as Sue's in business.Don't change a thing Mrs Sue. Let the "new fashioned" get their cakes from Stouffers.My guess is that some of these negative reviews are coming from Sue's jealous competition.
