El Taco Veloz | Mexican is a small, unassuming taco place with super friendly staff. The best tacos in the Auburn/Opelika area are served here, with the best street tacos in the U.S. The three-taco combo includes asada, chorizo, al pastor, and en agua de piña. The carnitas are unbelievably good: tender, flavorful, perfectly crisped. Everything is cooked fresh to order. The homemade horchata is mouth watering. The extra hot salsa is a must. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. The girls at the front are very kind and helpful. The mother makes the tamales. Prices are fair for cooked to order food. The food arrives quickly and is tasty. Patio seating is available for larger parties. The restaurant delivers too. It is the best place to eat in Opelika. Highly recommended.
