“Stopped here on a Saturday night, from out of town. Downtown is dark at night and it's hard to tell this was a Mexican restaurant from a distance. The windows were wet with condensation from the air conditioner and humidity so you cannot see inside before entering.
From a recommendation from a local who was coming out of BBQ restaurant about 3/4 mile up the street, she said the Mexican restaurant is way better especially after dark because the BBQ restaurant runs out of things and is not as fresh. So I went to the Mexican restaurant based on her recommendation.
The staff was friendly inside Cocina Real. The food was fast and very good. The tacos come with dual corn tortillas and meat. Anything else you want on it is at a mini salad style bar.
They do charge a bit extra for credit card payment but the staff is very honest as when I accidentally left my credit card in the check (quenta) billfold, they ran out to my car to bring it to me before I drove away. (Thank you for this.)
I recommend this restaurant if you are in this area.“

“Excellent find on the back street of Roanoke ! The chicken was hot and juicy ! The tater salad had to be home made as it was delicious but for me the collard greens were top notch and perfectly seasoned. The man behind the counter was just bendover backwards nice ! We will definately be coming back here to eat !“
