“Absolutely love this bar since changing ownership, Melissa is an absolute wonderful person, and all of her bartenders are great. To have a lgbtq+ safe space is absolutely comforting to be able to walk into a bar and not be misgendered or discriminated against is awesome. The specials are great and she carries beers that not every other bar has.“
“**Kingfish ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**
Kingfish is a classic neighborhood bar that delivers a fun, laid-back atmosphere with plenty of character. Known for its strong drinks, friendly crowd, and no-frills charm, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a casual night out.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with a true local feel that makes everyone feel at home. It’s a great place to grab a drink, catch up with friends, or enjoy live music and events when available.
With great service and a loyal following, Kingfish remains a go-to staple in Des Moines. Highly recommended!“

“Reminds me of an old fashioned European pub style watering hole. Love the ambiance. Friendly Staff. A place to get in from the cold rainy soupy weather and warm up with the beverage of your choice. A fireplace would be the only thing I would add. 😊“

“Craft cocktails and great service. One the best Old Fashioned’s in town.“
“The Dickson St Pub is another great establishment located on Dickson St. The atmosphere here isn't like your typical college bar like Shotz, it is chill. It does get crowded on weekends. They also have an upstairs patio that has nice views of Dickson St. Need to order the hog punch here.“
“Hands down one of my favorite bars on Dickson. The vibe is always good. Chill crowd, fun games, and solid drinks that don’t drain your wallet. Jay and Mary keep things moving, and David at the door deserves a shout-out. He’s always friendly, keeps things under control, and treats people with respect. You can tell he actually cares that everyone is safe and having a good time. 🍸✨️🍻✨️🏓✨️🎱“
“Great local pub! Great selection and vibe and smoking patio! Love it!“

“Perfect little spot for a date night or drinks with the girls. Very cozy and industrial feel, swanky but laid back. The dirty martini was perfect and the tapas were delicious. Probably the best artichoke dip I've had. Austin was our bartender and server...he was very accommodating and charismatic. Can't wait to come back my next visit to Fayetteville.“

“Currently exhibiting artwork in the space and really love the warmth it has. The friendly atmosphere and I introduced myself to the staff. everyone was super friendly. I ordered some beverages and food and enjoyed it.“
“Everything on the menu I have tried has been amazing. Highly recommend the pizzas and flatbreads, especially the jalapeno chicken pizza with honey. The charcuterie board could use some extras just because it was a little small for the price, feeds maybe 2, but still good. Everything handmade.“
“The bar tenders are all very skilled , very laid back at most times, and the music is always cool 😎 my favorite dive bar in the area 💜“

“We didn't eat here, just a coffee and soda. We went to watch the 3 local bands they had one night. They were good and the sound was good. It's a small place so not a ton of seating. Neat little place, seemed like a local hang out. We had fun“

“I've been lucky enough to have heard alot of good music in my life, and also some bad. I have never, ever heard any music at PSL that didn't make me get up and want to move. It has always, every single time, been incredible. And often free. Thank you, Prairie Street Live, for being here and for working so hard to bring in such incredible talent and thank you, Jonathon and Jackson, for your talent and efforts to keep us all entertained and happy.“

“Sideways might be the best bar in Fayetteville. They have amazing service and atmosphere, much more chill than most of Dickson Street. They have an excellent liquor selection and very fun and helpful bartenders. The pool tables and shuffleboard make this an excellent spot. Definitely visit Sideways if you want a more adult Fayetteville experience.“

“Went for the Jello shots! It was admittedly close to last call, but the friendly (and cute) bartender found us the 10 shots for $12 deal. Door guy was pleasant, all staff were busy working, not one was standing around or throwing attitude (almost impossible to find these days) and Jello shots were exactly what we were expecting! Good experience!“

“This was my first bar experience since turning 21 in November. The atmosphere is really cute and the staff are really nice! The first waitress we had was super sweet, she sat down and helped me and my boyfriend understand what was on the menu and what everything meant. The drinks we had were really good as well! We didn't try any of the snacks they had, but they had a tamale cart outside which my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed. It can be incredibly loud in there, though.
My one issue was parking. We had to park 2 or 3 blocks down because their parking lot is super small, really steep, and is made of either dirt or gravel. It scrapped our Civics front bumper both on our way in and out. If you can't find parking, you have to reverse your way back through it to get back on the street. If you have a higher up car, it's better to take that.“
