Beware !!! Do not eat here !!! My entire family got food poisoning from McClards. Tasted terrible and after a couple bites we all tossed it. The next day, they shut down “for cleaning and sanitation” but the health department was about to shut them down. You even made the news! Historic restaurant gone bad from new owners that are running it into the ground ! Beware !!! Do not eat here !
It’s really went down since the Mclards sold out
To be honest we were very disappointed. We reside in OK and much better BBQ. Serving sizes were good but taste was not desirable. Meat was dry and if you are used to sauce without vinegar you will not like

McClard's Bar-B-Q Restaurant is a well-known spot with a long history of serving barbecue. The atmosphere has a little old diner feel, and the staff are friendly and caring. The food is good and has a unique taste from different BBQ techniques used over the years. The prices are fair, and the tamales come highly recommended. Visitors often enjoy the large spread and great service, making it a favorite for many. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including the barn sampler, turkey sandwich, and rib plate, all praised for their deliciousness. The fries are fresh cut, and desserts like peach cobbler a la mode and blackberry cobbler are popular treats. Customers also appreciate the homemade Cole slaw, which is lightly sweet and spicy, and the beef ribs are considered top-notch.
The food is fantastic, with the coleslaw, sausage, and blackberry cobbler being particularly praised. The staff goes above and beyond, offering great sightseeing tips and making customers feel genuinely welcome. The ribs are life-changing, with the meat practically falling off the bone and the seasoning and smokiness being absolutely phenomenal. The old-time diner atmosphere and friendly staff add to the overall experience, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking great barbecue in Hot Springs.
