“An Oasis in the Arkansas CountrysideI was in the Osceola area for business meetings and was tasked by one of my colleagues to cater a lunch for 10 people. I was directed to the Hog Pen as the closest place to get food for a group. I must have driven past the non-descript building a million times and never even noticed it. The Hog Pen is a local mecca for barbecue in the area.When I arrived, I was lucky to have just beaten the lunch rush and the kind staff helped me put together a lunch for twelve people. My order had pulled pork, dry-rubbed ribs, smoked chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, and peach cobbler. The staff also provided me with buns, cutlery, napkins, sauces and everything else needed for a catered lunch.The food was exceptional, as I have had Barbecue from all over the US and can make a qualified statement about the flavour and quality. The chicken and ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and had an excellent smokiness. The rub was not overpowering and the flavour was mild with just a little touch of heat. The Pulling pork was soft and smoky and went well with the sauce provided by the Hog Pen team.In the end, there was not one scrap of food left as every morsel of food was eaten by the Big River Steel team whom I had brought the lunch for. I had tried a little of each of the items in the order and was pleasantly surprised. On my way back to my hotel, I stopped at the Hog Pen and bought a pulled pork sandwich for my drive.Parking: Plenty of spaces to park”

“This restaurant is not opened for inside business since the pandemic, but they do have a drive thru and they prepare your order quickly. Prices are very reasonable and you definitely get big portions. They have the best fried catfish plates, definitely 2 people can eat off one order.”

“We stopped here while in a road trip. It's very convenient to I-55. The food was wonderful! The salsa was a little different, but delicious. They brought out a bowl of charro beans with the chips and salsa. My husband had lunch fajitas and I had fajita quesadilla. They were so tasty! The meat was actually grilled on a grill, not just a griddle. The lunch portions were very generous! Guacamole and pico were also great. Makes me wish we lived closer to this restaurant. Service was also wonderful.”

“This is my grandparents restaurant it is amazing I love coming and working there and if you ever come definitely try the chicken and dumplings that's my favorite and if they have it get the steak, mushrooms, and a salad I use to get it every time I went.”

“A cute little cafe in Osceola. We went out from BRS, when we saw the place and wanted to give it a try. And I’m so glad that they opened. The drive through road is terrible with potholes ?. It looks like a family business and the girls are very sweet and helpful. There were no other cars except us. I ordered an espresso drink, and my colleague ordered ‘cotton candy’, a cold one. The coffee was pretty decent. The service is little slow, however, I don’t expect it to be as fast as the chain ones. Give them a try if you are around.”

“Traveling and this was just a few miles off the interstate- was rated the best restaurant here so stopped. Looked nice from the outside but had an odd smell inside. We were seated quickly and given menus. Salsa and chips came quick. The salsa was probably the worst we have ever tasted - just like tomato sauce. Chips were good but we were a bit concerned about the rest of our meal. We shouldn’t have been - I ordered shrimp chimichanga and husband ordered quesadilla with shrimp and chorizo. We both had a lot of tasty food. Did notice the windows were really dirty inside and out. Overall a good experience”

“Don't get me wrong: Osceola, Arkansas Sonic is my jam. But I wonder when that big hole in the drive around gonna be fixed. Seems like it's been there for a decade. I know Sonic has the money for the repair (just on what I spend there in a month). Take pride in your eatery and make needed repairs! That hole has to go! P.S. Y'all do have the best carhops in Mississippi County! Parking: Again, fix that gigantic hole in the drive around. It's been there since Hector was a pup. And Hector about 7 years old now.”

“We only go for the sweet tea, Frappuccinos, and chicken nuggets.So it's 5 stars if you use McDonalds for what you like.This one in particular is a little outdated on the inside and personally I'd rather eat in our vehicle, but that's just me.”
