We were 8 people with 4 kids and we had an amazing time while the children played in the grass. “I wish I had a sky full of stars to give for Josephine's review. They are surely deserving. 5 stars to represent the 5 senses will have to do. Visually it is absolutely beautiful. A lovely, rustic old home converted to a cozy intimate restaurant. The wafting smells of the food being prepared drew us as we wandered in. The warm, friendly greeting and attentive staff made us feel at home. The gentle bustle and buzz of the restaurant offset by a phenomenal soundtrack of eclectic music. My wife and I commented song after song about how special the ambiance was. Now to the food, although simply referring it as food is an extreme injustice. The meal was literally a work of art. Not the bougie, overly small (see what I did there?), portions with a drizzle of color to distract you from the fact that you about to "feast" on two bites of food. The portions were just the right size, completely satisfying without being grossly over or under sized. The ingredients were all extremely fresh and top quality. This makes total sense... with chefs creating such wonderful fare, why would you not use the best? Simply put, every single thing about Josephine's is absolutely perfect in my opinion. We wanted a special night for my wife's birthday and Josephine's delivered in spades. It could not have been any more perfect. Thank you SO much! If you are EVER in Flagstaff, you HAVE to make sure and try (try isn't accurate... let's say experience) Josephine's. Life is too short NOT to experience Josephine's!“

The crust, tomatoes, piles of veggies and olives and fresh basil on top were astounding.
I substituted the pineapple for a single, premium anchovy. It was superb and fueled a 2 mile evening hike.
It was a little too smoky in there and smelled of cleaning agents so we didn't eat in. The public shelf of excellent cook books made the wait for the pizzas fly by.

“Excellent atmosphere. Perfect outdoor seating. Very mid coffee. Got an Americano and it was a little better than Folgers or what you'd get at Denny's. The shop itself is fantastic and I bet their specialty espresso drinks are great but if you like robust dynamic black coffee, there are better shops.

Thank you to the owner for your response. Next time I am in town I will definitely stop by again. I do love your shop! Like I said, the atmosphere, the location. I really shouldn't judge based on one experience but part of it was the attitude of the clerk, not the barista. I really don't mind if you're having an off day or have a sullen disposition in general but if that's the case, it better be an excellent cup of coffee.
But like I said, I will definitely stop by in the future and try again and I really appreciate your response! It shows you care and as a small business owner myself, that is everything.

The onion pakora was a perfect appetizer, as it was crisp without being greasy. The chana masala at “medium-plus” spice level packed more heat than the “hot” spice level at many other Indian spots I have tried in Florida. Bravo! Both the basmati rice and papadum were subtly seasoned with cumin seeds, adding just the right depth of flavor to round out the meal. Every bite of my dinner reflected care and quality. While the food was amazing, the service experience was disappointing due to this interaction. Tipping should be appreciated, not expected at a specific percentage. We hope management addresses this, as customers should never be made to feel judged or pressured over a tip.“
