We visited the Boyce Thompson Arboretum today and looked for a good place to stop for a late lunch. Saw The Prospector was open and it looked to be on the golf course so we headed that way. It's a small place with maybe 8 tables inside and had a good size, dog friendly patio that overlooks the greens. Had no idea what to expect. We were on our way back to Phoenix from Tonto National Monument. Located on a golf course with the absolute friendliest staff ever! The food wasn't fancy, but it was tasty and plenty of it. We had the chip and trio of dips, a taco salad, and the buffalo chicken salad. They were all tasty! Pleasant and attentive service. Delicious food for a reasonable price. Bright and airy with three walls of windows, comfortable seating with views of golf course. Looking forward to a break in the heat so we can take advantage of the patio seating.
