This place has a nice casual atmosphere, and it was quite busy which is good!The service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and the food was INCREDIBLE! “Oh man. I didn't know the glorious food I was going to get when I stepped inside. I drove from Chandler on a risk, and it was worth it.Green curry was sublime. Drunken noodles were perfect. The pad thai was solidly good, if a little on the sweet side. Spring rolls were perfection, and so good that our 7yo stole them after I got in a bite. Tom kha coconut soup was lovely. A couple of our group had the entrees and they were okay. It kind of seemed to me that this was a burger and sandwich place even though very upscale. “We searched the Internet for best wings in Tempe AZ and saw the great reviews. Gave them a chance on Super Bowl Sunday. They were extremely busy, however the staff was very pleasant and kept us informed about the status of our order. We tried the Southern Dry Rub, Blazin Cajun and Blazin Asian traditional wings along with the Cauliflower wings with honey BBQ. Everything was amazing. We will definitely eat here again. “I’m a real Italian and I am really from NY. Not like some others who have lived here out west or in this desert forever and don’t have taste buds that can honestly recall real NY style pizza from back East. If you were a kid living in lower NY in the 1980s and 1990s, and you want a pizza that brings you back to your childhood in Staten Island or Brooklyn, made by a family who’s names were Vinny and Carmela from somewhere in southern Italy and with a strong Italian accent with little knowledge of English, then come here. The black and white cookies are almost on point too. Very similar to what I used to get near Grand Central Station. The cannoli, not so much. The filling is a bit off and they put Hershey’s chocolate syrup on top. The chocolate syrup ruins it. The rainbow cookies are also not made here. They are from Entenmann’s, cringe. So don’t get those either. But the pizza….. I love it. It’s NYC circa 1985 all over again, and I am so happy about that. The cheesecake is pretty good too. If you get nothing else, get a plain cheese pizza. Or half with pepperoni. The dough and cheese remind me of my childhood home. If they had checkered table cloths and spinning metal stools at the counter with red tops, I would swear I am 15 years old all over again and about to eat the best tasting pizza of my lifetime.Kid-friendliness: They love kids here. “We tried this place for dinner after visiting the surrounding stores. We were greeted as soon as we enter by everyone including the kitchen. C.J. took our order as was very patient and explained everything to us and the special of the day. We each got 5 wings I got the Hot Ranch and my partner got the Garlic Parmesan. We order a large Cajun Fry and an order of Fried Biscuits. Our food came out in a very timely manner since everything is cooked fresh. The wings were cooked to a crispy perfection and covered with the wing flavor. The fries were cook to perfection and were so tasty. Everyone was very friendly and helpful C.J. was very helpful and even provided some samples to help guide us. Trap and Bryson in the kitchen did an awesome job preparing the food. The Fried Biscuits were awesome, very light and delicious. The restaurant was very clean as were the restrooms. We will be making this a regular stop. The meat was tender even though we ordered the burger medium well (my wife's request) the French fries were hot and fresh. Next the sampler had jalapeño poppers, mozzie sticks and chicken tenders. We will not be ordering the samplers anymore. The food was over breaded and hard. The service was amazing, very friendly staff and had total control of the bar and restaurant. “Q: What's a chicken's favorite vegetable? A: Bok bok bok bok bok choy! What better way to spend a Friday than with some gal pals and good food? I ordered a #21 Spare ribs clay pot and a HK-style lemon tea for myself while some housemade fried fish filet, beef chow fun, and deep fried buns with condensed milk was shared between the four of us. All were oh so good. First things first about those who haven't had claypot rice: The rice is supposed to be crispy. That's arguably the best part of claypot rice! Yes, it takes 20 minutes to make (and it says so on the menu). Why? Because it is made to order. The rice goes uncooked with your chosen topping/entree, and it gets baked together. It's essentially an individualized casserole dish. Some soup gets served on the side, and while it is tempting and tasty to eat on its own, you pour the soup into your claypot rice towards the end to eat with the crispy rice. It's essentially part two of your meal. Claypot rice is also served with a special soy sauce based sauce you can use for your rice once you eat all the yummy toppings. As for all the other good eats, they were good! The housemade fish filet is incredibly delicious. Don't be assuming you're getting frozen stuff here. It's moist and tender and comes with a nice sauce on the side. The beef chow fun showed great technique with no broken noodles and lots of flavor. As for the deep fried buns with condensed milk, it's a nice sweet treat before the start of the meal. As for the HK-style lemon tea, just get it! I love this place! I can't wait to introduce more friends to this great eatery. I'm wishing Claypot Kitchen much success!“
