I ordered steak and cheese sandwich. The beef was a little grizzly. Fries were done nicely. Atmosphere, the music wasn't too loud. I believe this is one of the first Uncle Sam's. The staff was very attentive. The waitress came by the table several times. Plenty of refills and quick service.

I first started coming here in 1985 when my buddy had a job here. It's always clean and always friendly. The food has been consistently good on every visit over the decades. I recommend any of the fried sides. I also recommend the subs. Just pick one because they are always good. Mine is the Italian grinder and my wife's is the cheese steak. Beer is cold and fresh. Service was terrific all around today. I apologize that I didn't add a menu pic. Next time.

Uncle Sam’s on Shea is a great old-school Phoenix spot with a true neighborhood feel. The food is always solid, especially the subs, grinders, wings, and pizza. It is casual, comfortable, and the kind of local place that makes you want to keep coming back. Great place to grab a bite, watch a game, and enjoy a cold draft beer. Definitely worth supporting if you like local restaurants with character.
