“Highly recommend this place. The food has never disappointed—this is my fourth visit as of writing this review, and it’s been consistently excellent every time. Compared to Amelia’s, Grass Roots is in a completely different league. I actually had a burger at Amelia’s last night and left a two-star review; side-by-side, it’s not even close. At Grass Roots, you get more food, better quality, and far better value. The burger here was outstanding, and I’ll absolutely be coming back.“

“Phenomenal experience. Location, ambiance, food and service were nothing less than spectacular. Everything was outstanding. The food was exquisite and the service was incredible. “After abandoning an overly loud upscale bar in Scottsdale in search of a somewhat more auditorally tame alternative, we stopped at Liquor Pig. There's a real practical and meaningful story behind the bar's name, so skip the negative that can arise from not knowing the story.

Call this a Scottsdale neighborhood bar with an upscale undertone. It feels warm and inviting - which is the value you want to feel comfortable in what seem like familiar surroundings. Don't underestimate the value of a patient bartender. My SO and I closed the bar by taking our time with cocktails and diving into a serious and significant conversation that needed runway to get through. Kudos to the high EQ score bartender who gave us the space to finish. And to his straightforward explanation of the specialty cocktails we were exploring.

You're going to like the cocktail menu. You should. It's designed and prepared to be approachable, attractive, and a little organic. You'll know what you're ordering and you'll understand what are you going to experience. Trust me...I know the approach because I helped a company you'd know well use the approach to reinvigorate a dying food category. Proof that good ideas have legs.

And don't forget: You can still hear yourself think and have add intimate conversation with music competing with your sanity. Bottom line: 3.2 miles from home makes this MY favorite neighborhood bar. The dinner menu looks real promising. I'll figure it out because I'll be heading back.“

“Jeff immediately welcomed us with a smile and warm reception then provided amazing service and wine recommendations. He served us a Pinot noir that was super deep and bold, and I honestly thought he poured the wrong varietal. He was so gracious and brought out the bottle (for our examination ) and poured a small sample next to our glass of wine to compare. Indeed it was a big bold Pinot noir by Meiomi Vineyards. The salmon BLT was big enough to split between my wife and I and was absolutely delicious and grilled to perfection. What a surprising dinner venue and great service provided by Jeff. “I had the steak tenderloin and my husband had the salmon. Everything was delicious and served by a friendly waitress. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Valentine's Day and we enjoyed the Photo Booth. We had a lovely evening out and will return.“

“As a PWN beer snob, I was thrilled to find this place while visiting family. We showed up on a Saturday with a party of 8, no reservations, and they were so accommodating! Lots of beer choices and most were really good! Try the pepper lager or hopped lager for something different but neat. Food was great, on the spicy side for a few but I loved it. The only thing that bothered us for a while was a couple of guys smoking cigars a couple tables away! Apparently they were allowed to do so, being more than 20 feet from the door. Perhaps that's the letter of the law...but it seemed very inappropriate to allow them to be smoking in the dining area of a Marriott-related location. “Houston’s has been one of our favorite restaurants for nearly 40 years! We’ve been to the restaurants in different cities and have never been disappointed until now. While the service was good, the pork chop I ordered was so bland! It was not seasoned at all! Such a disappointment! My husband ordered the chicken which used to be called Apricot chicken, but now they have removed the fruit from the menu so we inquired and were told it was the same. It was not the same! The apricot flavored sauce served separately, was watery and barely tasted of apricot. The chicken was so bland and unseasoned that it was just meat! The vegetables served with both meals were good, as always. We ordered a diet coke for the beverage and received an 8 oz bottle of Diet Coke for $3.00 with no refills! My goodness! The only dessert on the menu was Key Lime Pie. We inquired and were informed that there were more desserts that were not on the menu. Well, why not put them on the menu? My favorite apple walnut with ice cream has been served at Houston’s since forever! Why not put it on the menu?
Mostly we were very disappointed with the 2 entrees (the meats) and will not be inclined to return to this location again.
We actually left most of it on the plates, and took none with us.“
