“As advertised, Bertie's was excellent! I am a huge fan of breakfast food. I could eat it for every meal. The Chicken Fried Steak was simply the best I've ever had. Lightly crispy, cut-it-with-a-fork tender, so savory. Everything was on point: gravy, eggs, potatoes, coffee, service, and atmosphere. They are also known for their doughnuts, which are made in-house. I recommend the apple fritter.“

“My husband and I are new to the mountain and we love to eat out, we have been to Charlie Clark's a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is soooo good, love the atmosphere on the enclosed porch area, and my favorite dish is chicken fried chicken with mash potatoes smothered in white gravy, it's to die for, my husband's is the Prime Rib and enjoys every bite. The entire staff are top notch, friendly, professional and all are a delight to have conversations with. We usually try to go weekly to get my chicken fried chicken fix for the week, lol, check them out, you will not be dissapointed.“
“This place is great. They cooked my steak EXACTLY how I wanted it: medium rare. It was perfect. The service is getting a 4 because it took our server about 15 minutes to ask for our order, but then again our server was also the bartender so she was doing 2 jobs, I can't be too inconsiderate with that. The atmosphere was great. They give it a Country western vibe and while they don't hit it head on, it's still great, playing REAL country, the 90s stuff. It's a fantastic place to try out!“
