“I’m no stranger to Torchy’s (discovered it in Houston right before I moved to the valley almost ten years ago), so I was excited to see it make its way out west. The food was great, but beyond that the staff was friendly and very kind. My partner forgot to nix an ingredient on his tacos (which was our fault) and the server offered to remake the tacos. The manager, Nic, built some rapport with us and noticed our chips were pretty small pieces for much of the tray, and offered to bring us new ones, which was completely unexpected. Nic was also all over the place — from bussing tables, to behind the bar or register, an then in and out of the kitchen, and he still found time to talk to us and make sure our experience was exemplary. We’ll definitely be back, but probably choose this location over the central Phoenix one because of this experience. Thanks again, Nic and staff!“

I had higher expectations for the menu items, maybe they need more specials? Kids menu was minimal but $7 is great. My salad was bleh. My husband really enjoyed his shrimp fajitas and margarita though! So maybe stick with the staple menu items. Service was good, but not overly amazing or joyful (I felt like she was a little tired and I didn't want to inconvenience her). Overall good visit, just not overly wowed.“

So for our wedding my wife and I had a German themed wedding that could be described as an old world decorated ceremony and dinner with an Oktoberfest reception. Anyways, we needed food to be catered and there being only about two restaurants in the valley that could support this, we were able to come to an agreement with Chef Luis and his staff here at Haus Murphy's. This was a wedding planned for a max of 175 people to attend, there was not that many to attend but we ordered enough food for that amount of people. Our request was for giant pretzels and stuffed mushrooms for the cocktail hour with their mustard and cheese dips. Main course was Eisbein, The BIG Smoked Beefy Bratwurst, Kilometer, spätzle, potato pancakes, German potato salad, and sauerkraut. Chef Luis nailed it!!! The food was definitely one of THE MOST talked about hits at our wedding and I could not agree more! I love this place and it will always be high on my recommendations for friends and family who visit the valley and is a Downtown Glendale treasure.“
