The wait was long but its a small restaurant so I didn't ding them for that. They were very empathetic to the wait and asked everyone if we wanted something to drink. We were seated at this tiny table next to a tall plant, which again was ok. What bothered me was the towel they used to wipe down the table. The smell of bleach was so strong that it was stuck in my nostril hairs for a good 15 mins. I appreciate the use of bleach and use it myself to clean but it was just too much....read full review
It was my first visit to La India. It came from a friend who had lived in Tucson many years.The waiter let me know they make all the food themselves and use local food as much as possible. He brought me a basket of chips and a good homemade salsa.I tried the chicken mole and a horchata. Both proved to be excellent choices. Nothing fancy, just great service and great food in a family-run restaurant. They're located on Stone Street now, and it is best to get there before the dinner crowd invades by 6. They have a simple courtyard outside that is wonderful as we approach Fall here in Tucson. The enchiladas are awesome and the chicken mole is excellent.
