“We had a family birthday with 7 people last night. We called a couple of weeks in advance to talk about food options. The crab cakes were a real hit. Crab with a little bit to bind the meat and no fillers. We had 4 different flat breads. We picked 2 and asked Karol, the owner/chef to have fun and make 2 others. All 4 were hits. Loved the charcuterie boards and the fresh mixed salads. Finally, she baked a great birthday cake for us too. Everyone loved it.Their wine prices are much better than most restaurants. They aren't doing the mark ups you would get at most restaurants.The wine styles vary, so ask for recommendations. We also enjoyed a wonderful glass of port after dinner.We brought a bottle of Syrah home and are having it with dinner the following night. Another great choice.“

“Wow ! Phenomenal. Best meal I’ve ever had in tucson, and honestly maybe anywhere. The ambiance is amazing and the hospitality was great.

We started with their soup of the day which was curry based and had herbs fresh from their garden in the back. Followed by a pear and blue cheese salad, which I can’t even put into words how good it was. The rib eye was the best rib eye I’ve ever had. I’m not sure how they cook it, but it had such a unique taste.

We sat at the bar which has a beautiful view of their salt wall, and you could see the back of the house staff hard at work. The chef and staff came out numerous times to check on us. Drinks were great as well - even the non alcoholic. We will definitely be back“

“First thing I say when we walk in, "OMG this place smells AMAZING!!", and tasted even better! Best falafel and gyro I've ever had!! I like that the falafel is patties instead of balls like most places. It was cooked perfectly..crispy crunchy on the outside, soft and almost cake-like on the inside. You get 4 cakes to the order plus pita bread, cucumbers and tomatoes. The gyro is HUGE!! I couldn't even pick it up to try and eat it until I ate some of the meat out of it, which btw, is flavored so beautifully that you don't really need the tzatziki sauce but definitely worth putting on bc the flavors of both go together so well! I HIGHLY recommend going to Istanbul if you want outstanding Mediterranean food in a good atmosphere! This place definitely get 👍👍 from this food enthusiast!!“

“On 5/1/25, I was in a car accident near Shish Kabob House in Tucson. The driver who hit me was followed by a friend or family member—who happens to be the owner of that business. Instead of doing the right thing, both are now lying to insurance agents about what happened. There were no other witnesses, and I’m still trying to track down any video footage from nearby businesses or apartments. It’s frustrating and disheartening to see a local business owner protect personal connections instead of standing up for what’s right. How can we support local businesses that don’t show that same respect and accountability to the community they serve? if she can so easily lie to an agency that can turn around and prosecute if/when the proof is shown, why would the community be so supportive of her. I highly recommend that this person doesn't get the community support she so much thinks she deserves! I wouldn't ever support an owner/operator of a restaurant knowing the lack of community support given back when I know what can be done in back of house in food industries to make sure she's got her butt covered in the event of a state inspection. please be careful with this person!“

“I tried Urban Pita during restaurant week, and it was a perfect dinner choice. The owner was very friendly and thoughtful, and her cook made a delicious meat combo (with gyro and chicken shawarma) on the flat top - it had a salad with vinaigrette and hummus with oil and pita. Great plate, and delicious mango lassie for dessert!“

“This food is pretty good! got the chicken shawarma plate. Was done really fast, was kinda questionable how fast it came out. But the flavors are amazing, and definitely a lamb dish next time.“

“Clear the table between courses! They continually brought out the next course and didn’t take away empties. Table became overwhelming. For the most part, the food was good, although my medium filet showed up medium well. The waitress and other staffers were friendly.“
