I had a great time the night I was there. It was freezing inside. There were a number of locals/regulars hanging out and enjoying the evening. I was there on a Friday and there was not a light on in the place which made for a surreal evening. There service was spotty as most of the regulars wanted to talk to the bartenders and that coupled with first timers like me asking multiple questions because they couldn't read the menu.
La Catrina was not very well balanced, the drink just tasted “loud” in not a great way. Usually love absinthe but found it annoying in this drink. Wife liked her drink though. Unique atmosphere inside, kind of cold and rigid, which I get is the theme but not the best for hanging out in.
Such a cool spot for cocktails, wish I had this where I live. Good menu, fun drink choices, the right type of atmosphere for hole in the wall night. Em mixed great drinks and killed the tunes all night! Look forward to a return on my next Tucson visit.
