“After dining in at 266 eateries in Vernon, I am now eating everywhere in Armstrong.

This was my eleventh eatery in Armstrong.

This FreshSlice is inside of an Esso gas station.

There is an area with three chairs, a counter with olive oil, hot sauce, and salt and pepper to eat.

Staff was friendly.

There were a ton of pizzas available by the slice here. This is in contrast to JJs which is the only other place in Armstrong with pizza by the slice and JJs only had three slices total.

I bought a Mexican Chicken and a Butter Chicken slice for about $7 total.

It's a little awkward to eat amongst the gas station foot traffic.

The slices had that distinct FreshSlice taste you can find everywhere.

I enjoyed my experience here.

Did you know this FreshSlice predates both current Vernon locations? I did. It does not, however, predate the original short-lived location on 27th street in Vernon from over fifteen years ago.

If you need pizza by the slice, this is your guaranteed available option in Armstrong.

Bring your laptop for reliable WiFi, a good amount of comfortable seating with lots of access to outlets, free parking, access to clean washrooms, and of course, Starbucks coffee with free refills.

“A&W in Armstrong was my 15th eatery in Armstrong.

I bought a crispy veggie burger combo for $15.63.

I was told it would take four minutes. I timed it. It took over six minutes. Thankfully, I am a patient person.

The place was very clean. They just finished wiping everything down.

In Vernon, every A&W location has very sketchy people both inside and outside. Police were frequently called at the Fruit Union location during lunch hour.

Here it is quiet, safe, and relaxing. They have a nice outdoor area.

I think this might be the best fast food location I have visited in both Vernon and Armstrong.

There was ketchup and vinegar at my disposal for my French fries.

If I had to return to a fast food place, I would come back here if the situation and urge arose.

Staff was polite and friendly.”

“This was my 9th eatery in Armstrong by accident because the Chinese restaurant was closed without any warning online.

I bought an apple fritter and a piece of rocky road cake for just over $5.

The woman was friendly and helpful. She skipped the tip option for me on the machine to help me avoid any guilt.

There were four tables available inside for seating. The setup inside is a bit unique.

The apple fritter and cake both tasted fine and I enjoyed it, but not like over the top outstanding or absolute essential must-try.

I would stop by here again upon another wander in the future.

I previously tried coming here a few months ago but it was unexpectedly closed without any sort of announcement.

I encourage anyone reading this to give them a try.”

“After trying all 251 eateries in Vernon, I have been visiting all of them in Armstrong.

Subway was my eighth eatery in Armstrong.

I had a foot long veggie delite and soda for just over $14 on ghost pepper bread.

They were a little light on the toppings despite me asking for all veggies and extra pickles and jalapeños.

For some reason they ask what sauce you want before they put on the vegetables. I think this is the only Subway in the world that does this.

My sandwich had the familiar Subway taste.

I was surprised how many tables and plug in outlets there were for a small town Subway.

The customer next to me and I talked about our past experiences of seeing the Blue Jays play in Toronto.

It took about seven minutes for my sandwich to be made with one customer in front of me. He bought three sandwiches.

Overall I had a good experience with this Subway.

Staff was friendly but there was an odd miscommunication at checkout.

“Ordered a dinner with a substitution and they asked if it was cause of an allergy or celiacs. Told them it was for celiacs and they suggested that the soya sauce and oyster sauce be removed. I was very impressed that they suggested that. Good on you to know what's all in for ingredients. Great job!!!!!”

I haven't had a McDonald's meal that I have enjoyed in years, it's always a last minute decision out of desperation.

I popped into the drive through, on a road trip. I ordered the small $5 big Mac meal with an add-on of 4 nuggets, for about $8.50 with tax.

The customer service was excellent all the way from ordering, through being handed my meal. The nuggets were hot and crunchy, and actually came with the dipping sauce. The fries were fresh and hot. And my burger was hot, juicy and the cheese was actually melted. It was actually too much food, I couldn't finish it, great deal. Thank you, it hit all the cravings!”
