Kawawa Japanese Restaurant Reviews
This review is for the ramen side of the restaurant. I've been to this place a few times over the span of 10+ years and now I know why I never came here more often. I ordered the original ramen and added gyoza on the side. The gyoza was tasty - the ramen was not. The pork broth was bland. All it needed was some salt. I have been coming here for years and everytime is more disappointing, and soon will stop coming. The mix and match menu is ok but the price increased and the portions got smaller. Used to be 1 order was 2 pieces of roll sushi, now it's 1. Any amount of leftovers even if you bring your own box, they want to charge $3 for.
Overall, the food tastes good and the portion sizes were decent. However, the udon portion is too small.

Kawawa Japanese Restaurant in Burnaby is a good choice for an affordable dining experience. They offer an Eat All You Can menu at a reasonable price, including items like the tasty salmon head karage. The restaurant is clean and provides a variety of dishes at a mix and match combo. Customers can choose from the all-day mix and match, which offers up to 30 orders per person. It is recommended to order one piece first to find your favorites, such as the chopped scallop cone and gomae salad (cold spinach in sesame soy sauce). The menu is especially popular among seniors 65+ and families, with prices starting at $22.95 for seniors and $24.95 for others, plus a $3 take-home fee, GST, and tips. On weekends and holidays, there is an extra charge of $1 per person. Parking can be challenging on weekends. For larger groups, an 18% service charge is added for parties of six or more, with a maximum of five people per table. Takeout options include small, medium, and large containers, with additional charges. Customers are encouraged to order from both the mix and match menu and the a la carte menu to enjoy more variety and quantity. The restaurant is known for its quick seating and friendly service, with food coming in bunches and good quality. Recently, some customers found the ramen to be a bit bland in seasoning, but the broth was tasty, and overall, the meals are considered good value for the price. Overall, Kawawa Japanese Restaurant remains a reliable place for satisfying and affordable meals with good value.
