Tasting was $10 for trying 6 wines. Would be a fair price. But the amount served per wine was so tiny, you couldn’t even analyze any flavor of the wine. As well the red wines were way to warm. When we then decided to buy 2 bottles, the owner did not even tell us the amount we have to pay, he just gave us the card-terminal. I’m sure there are better wineries around.
This is our favourite place in the Cowichan Valley. The vineyard and winery grounds are beautiful with many lovely planters and flower gardens. The Bistro is a great building with dramatic wood doors, but in good weather the outside area is the place to be. It serves delicious appetizers and lunch entrees, with attentive and friendly staff. Visited at the end of October from Ontario just after a snow storm ripped through. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, infinitely kind, and very helpful. The vineyard was very beautiful and there was not a single wine that we tasted that we did not thoroughly enjoy. I cannot truly say enough about how positive our experience here was.
