“So , like many of us locals , I have been driving past this place for several years , assuming that there is no way on earth you can buy even remotely decent wine for 100$ a case.
How wrong I was.
I was there for a different reason than the wine , had a meeting with the owner.
After our business was done , he invited us in for a tasting, and my wife and I were blown away. Pieter and his lovely parents treated us like family , gave us an extensive tasting selection , and we left with a case of mixed reds , whites , and a few of their fruit based wines at amazing prices. Also , out back was a large patio with views over skaha lake , will definitely be going back in the summer.

Picked some up at a farmers market and I make it a point to come here and pick some up everytime I'm up here.

Current favourites are the cherry blossom, the coyote and black widow.“

“Loved our visit here. Stellar setting - one of the BEST in BC's wine country. Karen was an utter delight, sharing interesting info not only about the wines, but vines, Africa, and many other topics. We most enjoyed The Fizzy One and brought a couple home. Great that they waive the tasting fee with purchase. Don't miss the self-serve fridge of wines, other beverages, and cheeses - yum. Make sure you walk through the vines to see those gorgeous grapes up close.“

“We were looking for a wine tasting in the region and this was the only winery we could find that was open (Dec 22nd 2025).
It was out first time here and no disappointment! The lady was really polite and kind. They charge $15 for a tasting of 5 wines or 4 sparkling wine. The good news is that they waive the tasting fee if you buy a bottle, which is a great deal.
Wines were good and tasting included a detailed explanation of each wine.
I recommend coming here for a great tasting!

“What a fantastic place! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and even on your very first visit, you're treated like an old friend.

The staff take the time to explain all the different products they offer, and there is so much more here than just great beer. They also have delicious food and a wonderful selection of quality preserves and specialty products that you can enjoy on-site or take home with you.

Everything feels genuine, friendly, and inviting. I highly recommend stopping by if you're ever in Penticton. It's one of those special places that leaves a great impression and makes you want to come back again.“

We also enjoined meeting and chatting with a few of the owners who happened to be in the tasting room. Only suggestion is that it would be nice to be able to purchase a few simple nibbles to enjoy while tasting the wines. We did drive away with a selection of several bottles to enjoy with friends following our vacation.“

“Barley Mill never dissapoints. Well worth the price, I got the power bowl with grilled chicken. It was a big serving and had excellent flavors. My partner got the fish and chips. The fries are beer battered and my personal favorite out of any restaurant in Penticton. I also got the strawberry margarita slush & my partner had the purple rain. Definitely a town favorite for us. Will be back soon!“
