“ROCHE wines’s story weaves love, authentic French wine making tradition and an adventurous move to the Okanagan. Dylan Roche (Burgundy, Chablis, New Zealand, Margaux) an avid cyclist wished to pursue becoming a cycle mechanic and tour guide in the idyllic countryside of Burgundy in 2000. Serendipitously, the alluring life of winemaking converted him to officially train in Beaune (2003). Pénélope Furt-Roche (6th generation Bordeaux winemaker of Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion, Spain, New Zealand, Australia,Tasmania) grew up at the esteemed family estate in Bordeaux and at a young age learned the exquisite French tradition of winemaking with her Father Didier. The two merged paths in New Zealand whilst discovering Hawkes Bay during harvest and fell in love (original Hallmark story). They chased each back to France, started a life and both continued their wine journey in Bordeaux. In 2010, the family decided to sell the estate and with a leap of faith the vignerons couple wanted to pursue a dream of their own… Roche Wines! New transplanted they found their desired location in 2011 and commenced various projects to assist them to their final goal in 2017. Being organic, with hands-on farming, focused on sustainable practices and paired with unique Okanagan terroir Roche Wines has quickly excelled. “We had the absolute best time at Red Rooster Winery, and a huge part of that was because of Joel! He was truly exceptional. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about wine, but what really stood out was how personable and welcoming he was. He made us feel genuinely invited and happy to be there from the moment we arrived.

The tasting was so much fun, and Joel made it feel relaxed, engaging, and personal. We actually enjoyed ourselves so much that we didn’t even have enough time to make it to another winery afterward, which says a lot about the experience!

The wine club is also such a great offering. After our tasting, we were so impressed that we joined, and I’m very much looking forward to coming home to Ontario and having my 12 bottles of wine delivered!

If you visit Red Rooster, definitely ask for Joel. He made our wine tasting such a memorable experience, and we would absolutely come back again! 🍷“

“This is a must see on a wine tasting trip. Smaller than many of the local wineries, but the more personal service is a nice advantage. The view is second to none and has a very quaint and welcome feeling. The wines also live up to the experience!“

“Had a really good tasting here today. Geraldine poured our wines, and the tasting was informative. We really enjoyed ourselves.

This place has history in the area. As the story goes, it used to be called Ruby Tuesday, with permission from the Rolling Stones' management to use the name, until an American restaurant chain of the same name challenged it. So they changed the name, and Ruby Blues was born.

Regardless of the name, they make fantastic wine. We even heard at another winery that every time you drive by, it seems like there's something fun going on down here. We ended up walking away with a few bottles, including a Viognier. It wasn't open for tasting, so we had to buy one to find out!“

“We went for wines' sampling and what treat it was! We tasted six wines, each unique but three of them truly remarkable. Our favorite was 2019 Pinot Noir, slightly ahead of 2022 Cabernet Franc, with surprisingly well composed bouquet. We liked cozy atmosphere and well presented introduction to wines. Prices are on 'friendly' side.“

“Don’t be confused but the name and photos being more focused on the guest house. This is an INCREDIBLE winery, one of our favourites in the area and we always make a point to stop here. The wines are great if you enjoy Italian reds and dessert wine.

It feels like you are having a wine tasting in a friends beautiful backyard. Games set up for kids and an incredible sandwhich truck which is a must try.“

“We stopped at Stag’s Hollow without knowing anything about the winery. By the time we left, we had fallen in love with it and I had joined the Wine Club.

Fred was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, the vineyard, and their winemaking philosophy. He was personable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Stag’s Hollow focuses on less common varietals and small-production wines, which made the tasting even more interesting. This winery is a true hidden gem.“

“Highly recommended! We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here! We were treated like royalty ! Every dish was paired with the perfect wine. Chef Joshua Mueller 👍😘🥂 spent his time meticulously creating each dish: pleasing to the eyes and simply decadent! Every bite was a party in our mouth! “I have heard great things about Blasted Church and wanted to try it out. Our group arrived for our reservation and started the tasting with some live music. There was a small logistical issue where the reservation confirmed and the actual table size didn’t match but it was quickly rectified.

Our server was good though she seemed to take a while to warm up. She started pouring wines but didn’t explain what we were tasting until we started asking questions. After that, it was a good experience.

We didn’t get any drinks, but we did buy a few wines from the store. They had some limited releases in store that you can’t get elsewhere, which is a fun treat, although slightly more expensive.

Rustic, wine country charm, with beautiful artisanal cheeses and natural style wines… and a perfect picnic area to enjoy the day! 😎🧀🥖🍷🥂 Met Jen & Jen whom make handmade artisanal cheese and source to some of the best restaurants in BC. Had a great cheese and wine pairing compliments of the wonderful host Ginger. Learned about Matthew SherLOCK and Ross HackWORTH from Lock & Worth. Organic, hand harvested, unfined and unfiltered… beautifully done!“

“Wonderful small winery. We were taken excellent care of by Angela, and by the winery dog Chris Helmsworth. She explained the winemaker if left to his own devices would grow only Pinot noir and chardonnay - both of which the winery excels in. But when the owners purchased the property there was a field of gewurztraminer, which the have kept as a legacy. See photo of the wines we tasted. The chardonnay from Washington was lighter, while the home grown ones were just to our liking. Just a hint of vanilla from a short time in oak and lively fruits on the palate. Of the pinots the McLean Road '23 had classic Pinot characteristics, and was ready to drink now or hold. The Micro Cuvée '23 had firm tannins, and while still a pleasure to drink now, will be good to age for a few years.
The winery ships anywhere in Canada, and has a wide variety of options to choose from: 4 or 12 wines per shipment, and either chardonnay or Pinot or both. Also a 10% discount on all wines purchased. We opted for the mixed 4 pack.
