“We stopped at Stag’s Hollow without knowing anything about the winery. By the time we left, we had fallen in love with it and I had joined the Wine Club.
Fred was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, the vineyard, and their winemaking philosophy. He was personable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Stag’s Hollow focuses on less common varietals and small-production wines, which made the tasting even more interesting. This winery is a true hidden gem.“
“This is a must see on a wine tasting trip. Smaller than many of the local wineries, but the more personal service is a nice advantage. The view is second to none and has a very quaint and welcome feeling. The wines also live up to the experience!“
“Amazing experience. The girl we had (of ethnic background) was soo kind and funny and knowledgeable. Absolutely loved her! Will go back again!“
“Valerie and Stephen were a joy to work with. Sanitation and organization in the cellar were top notch, and Valerie executed winemaking instructions for my clients perfectly. Great communication and well equipped winery and lab ideal for producing small lot premium wines. I would recommend BC Wine Studio & Carter Wine Co to anyone looking for a quality full service custom crush facility.“
“Wonderful small winery. We were taken excellent care of by Angela, and by the winery dog Chris Helmsworth. She explained the winemaker if left to his own devices would grow only Pinot noir and chardonnay - both of which the winery excels in. But when the owners purchased the property there was a field of gewurztraminer, which the have kept as a legacy. See photo of the wines we tasted. The chardonnay from Washington was lighter, while the home grown ones were just to our liking. Just a hint of vanilla from a short time in oak and lively fruits on the palate. Of the pinots the McLean Road '23 had classic Pinot characteristics, and was ready to drink now or hold. The Micro Cuvée '23 had firm tannins, and while still a pleasure to drink now, will be good to age for a few years.
The winery ships anywhere in Canada, and has a wide variety of options to choose from: 4 or 12 wines per shipment, and either chardonnay or Pinot or both. Also a 10% discount on all wines purchased. We opted for the mixed 4 pack.
BTW the winery was #2 Small winery in Canada, and #3 winery in BC in 2025 NWAC.“
“Went to See You Later Ranch for my Niece’s wedding. They put up a beautiful wedding there for all of us.“
“my absolute favorite wine! when on Vancouver Island it's the only wine I buy! wish they sold to the USA...❤️🥰❤️🥂“
“I have heard great things about Blasted Church and wanted to try it out. Our group arrived for our reservation and started the tasting with some live music. There was a small logistical issue where the reservation confirmed and the actual table size didn’t match but it was quickly rectified.
Our server was good though she seemed to take a while to warm up. She started pouring wines but didn’t explain what we were tasting until we started asking questions. After that, it was a good experience.
We didn’t get any drinks, but we did buy a few wines from the store. They had some limited releases in store that you can’t get elsewhere, which is a fun treat, although slightly more expensive.
There’s a cool story behind the name of the church, be sure to ask about it!“
“They have the best wine slushies!“
“The owners are absolutely wonderful and their depth of knowledge is fantastic!! The Wine is truly second to none!“
“Get the Nectarine. Get the Nectarine. Get the Nectarine!!! As someone who drinks a lot of red wine, I have never fallen in love with a white wine this fast. I was gifted this lovely bottle by my colleagues and when I ran out, I searched around ALL of Vancouver for 11 months to look for it. No luck. So I made the most random BC Day Holiday decision of my life - I drove 4.5 hours to come to the source. This winery was not only just beautifully artistic inside, but the owners are the most down to earth and kindest individuals I have ever met. My boyfriend and I did not pass up the opportunity to do a tasting and I can confidently say, GET THE MERLOT GET THE MERLOT GET THE MERLOT!! Get all the wines (like seriously)! We left with a case of 16 but my biggest regret was not leaving with more! I have collected over hundreds of bottles of wines in the Okanagan and in Europe but Farm Gate Winery takes the cake!
If that doesn't convince you to buy wine here... I don't know what could. GET THE NECTARINE. TRY ALL THE WINES!“
“Known for their ice wines! In my opinion, a great spot even for those who don’t enjoy wine too much as ice wine is very sweet and smooth. We opted for their classic ice wine flight for $30 which included the Riesling, Vidal and Sparkling Vidal. The Riesling was definitely my favourite, really enjoyed the sweetness and the apple flavours. They have red and white wines as well.Would try to come back in the summer next time as I imagine it would be gorgeous!Tip - if you have a visa infinite card, sometimes they have deals going on! For us we got buy one get 1 flight!“
“We are here camping and visited today and bought quite a bit of wines! The lady was very welcoming and accommodating, too bad I didn’t ask her name! Thank you for appreciating nurses and we appreciate your excellent customer service…“
