“Bartie Winery has really good wines and a generous pour… often more than you expect! The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, which makes the tasting enjoyable. One thing to note: they do charge more for a patio tasting than inside, which feels a bit unfair. That aside, the wines themselves are worth trying and the overall experience is still enjoyable.“
“Bought another couple bottles of Rubeus today, and they'll be lovely. Maverick is one of the 'must haves' for our cellar.“
“When you need some harmony and balance in life try sipping VinAmité Cellars! Vin (French for wine); Amité (Norman Medieval English for Friend & harmony) you can extract the importance of savouring life with those close to you. This wonderful Canadian wine chapter began as a dream for Ray Coulombe whom enjoyed the Europeanesque ambience of Old Historic Montreal’s lively café and bistro scene sipping dreamy French wines during his advertising career. Beaujolais and darling wife Wendy stole his heart! Looking for a legacy gift for his daughters Catherine and Nathalie and bask in the fruits of his labour- why not bring Beaujolais to BC? Breathing life into existing 5 acre vineyard and creating the winery in 2013 his visions became reality. Winemaker Phil Soo (Noble Ridge, Dirty Laundry, Cassini, Silkscarf, Ruby Blues, Gold Hill, Bonamici) laid the foundation and mentored daughter Catherine who gracefully carried the French inspired focus from first vintage in 2018. A former haute caterer and fashion student, it was natural to pursue the art of winemaking and capture each wondrous season in a bottle. Today’s visit was spectacular! Nathalie’s art adorned the walls, Christmas charm of a Hallmark movie, the gentle aromas of fondue and baking filled the air and pièce de résistance- Catherine’s delicately crafted wines. A portfolio worth collecting and deserving of the finest restaurant menus! Also one of a few whose warmhearted personality, gentile nature and intrepid boldness is defined in each glass. 🏆❤️🍷⚜️ Through life’s triumphs and defeats, may you always be blessed with the comfort of “wine friends”. A “MUST VISIT” for enophiles, wine enthusiasts, foodies, or anyone seeking an authentic wine country experience! Events, rotating ciders, local beer on tap and Catherine’s epicurean delights.“
“a great educational experience-- delicious wines“
“Nice atmosphere, knowledgeable about all the wines, pleasant, helpful. Angelica was our associate and she was very nice in telling us about the wines and the tasting... if you are in oliver or ososyoos side I would highly reccomend. Beautiful place on a sunny day“
“Amazing wine, amazing people. Some of the best BC wine you can find We bought this for our anniversary (we were married in 2015) and I have no words!!!“
“The setting, the hospitality, and the wine together created a magical, unforgettable moment. We left feeling grateful, and eager to return. A very warm thank you to Valerio for his kindness and heartfelt welcome, it truly made our visit so special.“
“We just had a tasting with Bertie. So knowledgeable and friendly. Wine was fantastic and so was our hostess. Thanks for helping me become a pro at tasting, Bertie!! We will surely enjoy these 4 bottles 😂❤️“
“This is my favourite winery. I come any time I’m in the area. The wines are delicious. The seating and views are gorgeous. You are treated like family. It’s a fun and feel-good place with great wine!“
“Very quaint small winery with excellent wine and wonderful experience with beautiful gardens. Lovely staff with wine knowledge and unscripted attention to customer service“
“My tastebuds enjoyed the “Colourful Notes” in these wines. Great service and little boutique store with useful items and local art. A hidden gem discovered.“
“Amazing everything. View, wine, people“
“Absolutely brilliant winery. We are so glad we ended our stay in Osoyoos with a visit to Checkmate. Jackson was our person, and he treated us extremely well. We had great chats with him and he really helped us with our decisions on the wine. In the end we purchased six bottles of wine, including a great collection of chardonnays and merlots. The presentation of the six bottles in the gift box were exemplary, and well worth the cost. Thank you to Checkmate, and most of all Jackson, for a wonderful afternoon!“
“wonderful staff, great experience ♡“
“Known for their ice wines! In my opinion, a great spot even for those who don’t enjoy wine too much as ice wine is very sweet and smooth. We opted for their classic ice wine flight for $30 which included the Riesling, Vidal and Sparkling Vidal. The Riesling was definitely my favourite, really enjoyed the sweetness and the apple flavours. They have red and white wines as well.Would try to come back in the summer next time as I imagine it would be gorgeous!Tip - if you have a visa infinite card, sometimes they have deals going on! For us we got buy one get 1 flight!“
“I moved to British Columbia from Ontario to retire in 2016 and wanted to purchase your Sparkling Merlot but it was not available in BC even though Jackson Triggs has wineries in BC. I now understand why - no free trade within the provinces in Canada. It is a shame. I had to order the wine from Jackson Triggs at Niagara Falls Ontario. Thank you Maritime Provinces and Ontario for starting free trade within the provinces of Canada. I hope British Columbia joins them.“
“Big shout out to Roberta and all the staff, they really make you feel special when you visit.“
“We were blown away by this winery! Every single wine we tasted had depth, flavour and body. Coming from the wine industry in Niagara, we were looking for this kind of Okanagan experience and Platinum Bench went above and beyond on every level. The enthusiasm for this winery came through in our consultant Susan’s knowledge of each wine and the pairing with artisanal breads just took everything to a whole other level. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, Murray, whose passion for the vine was evident.
Than you Platinum Bench…we will be spreading the word of your amazing winery to those looking for the perfect Okanagan experience.“
“If you like French-style wine this is the place for you. It’s reservation only and they said they may not do wine tastings next year due to limited stock. Wine tastings are $10 nonrefundable. They were hit hard by the weather and so the yield is very low, this means go before the year ends as this may be the last year they do wine tastings, they’ll be reserving their bottles for wine club members only. Whites start at about $31 and reds start at about $37.“
“We visited the winery and had a wonderful experience. Katherine was absolutely lovely—attentive, friendly, and very informative, which made the visit even more enjoyable. We never felt rushed and truly had a nice, relaxed time. The view of the mountains was stunning and added to the whole experience. Would definitely recommend a visit! Try the Syrah it was fantastic!“
