“Great experience here chatting with the owner, and exchanging stories.
Nice wine. He even had a variety from special grapes tannet (I think it was spelled).
Highly recommend.
Wonderful scenery right on the river.“
“We had an exceptional experience at Vanessa. While the 2024 wine is not reflective of the amazing wines we have come to know from Vanessa (with grapes from the US) they poured some from their catalogue … and it’s tasting phenomenal!! The staff, wine, location, and overall experience is one of the best in the area. Don’t miss out or Vanessa. And, whether it’s open or not, BUY the 2020 meritage - you won’t be disappointed“
“Quant little winery! Fantastic wines! Great selection! In great location east of Keremeos, easy access, lots of parking. Sukh is a great host and is very knowledgeable about wines and wine making. He takes the time to explain each wine and what food to pair it with. Worth a stop anytime going through town. Highly Recommend!“
“We had a delightful wine tasting with Laurie! It was an exceptionally warm day and she offered to serve us in the barrel room which was cool on more than one level. She was knowledgeable and very fun to spend an hour with. We learned a lot and left with some great wines. Thank you!“
“a great place to visit and experience in the Valley ☆☆☆☆☆ superb wines to taste and vines to see -to be a part of the Flock is the real treat!“
“After several moves and a lengthy career with the RCMP Walter and Cristine Makepeace settled in the stunning Similkameen valley. They purchased an organic apple and peach orchard near Cawston in 2005 and after 9 years of hard work transformed it into the family owned Hugging Tree Winery. Son and winemaker Bradley (inspired by his time as a bartender in fine dining restaurants in Whistler) pursued his dream of wine making via Okanagan College Viticulture and Winemaking program to create the small lot craft wines many enjoy. Roll forward to 2019, the family decided to sell the previous lot for 2 beautiful small lots which feature warmer micro-terroirs that could offer a broader portfolio. Bordelaise varietals, Viognier and Syrah are the focus. Quaint country side atmosphere with an incredible valley and mountain backdrop and delicious wines really make this a Similkameen gem! Great to speak with Bradley and see his passion for wine and giving guests an authentic experience! 😎🍷🥂🍇⛰“

“Such a beautiful new addition to the Similkameen Valley! Amazing wine - they are known for their rose, but the whites and reds are incredible too! Daniel and Kristine are so warm, passionate and knowledgeable - their years of experience really shines through :)“
