The food was OK but there was a problem with the payment receipt. The AUTH# on the receipt showed 3030. However my bank statement showed the AUTH# as 0892. When I phoned the bank they said that all their platforms showed the same number - 0892. Although this may seem like a minor problem, I rely on the authorization numbers to make sure that all the withdrawals on my statements are legitimate.
Stopped by Saturday afternoon on a whim and ended up staying way longer than planned just to get decent light for a few shots of the dining room before it filled up. The staff were genuinely patient while I fiddled with my camera near the window table, and nobody rushed me even when I asked to reshoot the orange chicken before digging in. Stopped in Kamloops for a few days last week and tried Bamboo Inn on a friend's recommendation, honestly glad we did since the ginger beef was some of the best I've had outside my home province. The staff were super friendly and patient with our questions about the menu, even recommending a couple dishes we wouldn't have picked ourselves. Bamboo Inn offers great food and excellent service. The food arrives hot and on time for delivery, with efficient and friendly drivers. Takeout is really good, with huge portions and great menu choices. The sweet and sour sauce is sweet with sour notes, and the chicken fried rice is not oily. The 4 item combo is reasonably priced, and the presentation is well done. Combos like sweet-and-sour pork, chicken balls, chicken, fried rice, and ginger beef offer great value, with enough food for a second meal. The buffet is very good, with a nice pleasant atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. There is an excellent affordable smorg on Sat/Sun mornings, Tuesday savings of 50% on a 2nd combo, and a lunch combo for $15. A seniors discount is also available.
