“Food was great. Had a salad with chicken and it was cooked to perfection. Came in and dined alone, was expecting a more friendly and attentive server. One of the girls at the front realized I wasn’t being cared for, and Abbie (Abby? Abi?) gladly grabbed me cutlery, refilled my water as well as checked on how my food tasted, etc. without me having to ask. She did a lovely job of going above and beyond and kindly refused when I offered her a small tip saying it “wasn’t necessary”. I will definitely be coming again.“

Had the burger. Was a bit expensive, but really, seems like everything in Kamloops is for some reason. 5/5 for flavour and the maple pork belly and onions were great. Maybe the best meal I've had this trip.“

“I have been coming to this White Spot location for around 14 years. After returning home from a two-week work shift, one of the first things I often do is wake up and order the cheesesteak hash. Sometimes I even come back later for lunch or dinner. I live in the building next door, so this location has become a familiar part of my routine.

A lot has changed over the years, with the most noticeable change being the staff. There are often new and unfamiliar faces, and sometimes it feels like they do not care quite as much as the longtime employees. The staff members who have been there for years make a noticeable difference. They remember you, remember what you ordered last time, and turn a regular meal into more of an experience.

There are items on the menu that I really enjoy and others that are not for me, but ever since I was a kid, White Spot has always been a place to bring family and friends for a good meal and friendly service. The restaurant has gone through some subtle changes over the years, but it has continued to maintain its overall quality. Like any restaurant, it occasionally has an off day, but who doesn’t?

My main suggestion would be to make the entrance more visible with a sign or another clear marker. Sometimes it can be confusing when the lounge looks closed and there is no host station at the front entrance. Staff should also check both entrances more regularly. Even I have occasionally waited five minutes or more before eventually walking farther inside to find someone.

One final suggestion: chill the beer glasses. A good beer deserves a properly chilled glass.
