“This place is a gem in downtown Kelowna. First off, service is definitely 5-star… they are attentive, adequate, efficient and professional. You don’t need a server come checkin you out everytime you have a bite. Don’t get me started with the sashimi… probably the best in town! Their ramen… is to die for!!! Well, let me finish this with the best selection of sake flight under $20!!! Go check it out yourself!“
“Absolutely amazing. First time teppanyaki experience and the chef was extremely talented and charismatic. The A5 Miyazaki was out of this world. Overall just an incredible dining experience and so much more than a meal! If you haven't experienced hibachi style cooking, do yourself a favour and enjoy the show.“
“Very good sushi. One of the best negitoro rolls that I have had in a long time. Tight rolls that don't fall apart even with a lot of components. Fast and friendly service at a good price. And they have the crumb topping! Will be ordering again very soon.“
“A classic sushi restaurant with all the typical fusion options. Its busy for takeout and so the chef brought me the food which was pleasant.I loved the v5 roll and the quality of the rice and roll presentation is appreciated too.I would prefer takeout as the atmosphere is casual but certainly worth my business- I came 2 days in a row to get my sushi fix ?Will be back next time I come to Kelowna.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie optionsDietary restrictions: Gluten free options“
“Nice surprise to find a homey Japanese restaurant here in West Kelowna. my wife and I both got bentos to sample as much as possible w/out over-stuffing ourselves. the kid got a couple rolls and we shared an Agedashi tofu.the nigiri seemed fresh for what we were expecting, HUGE BONUS! my only complaint (and a minor one at that) would be that the tempura seemed a bit over done (color and slightly greasy). the tofu however was pretty good as was everything else we had. oh... large bottles of the beer would be nice too. came back with the wife for sushi and maki rolls before headed back to California and definitely a nice find. the tempura was better this time so maybe just a bad fried food night the last time. fish was fresh and portions are decent sized for the quality. minor complaint is that all the Asian restaurants we've been to up here seem to use breast meat for everything chicken. makes certain stir fries and definitely the chicken karaage much less yummy. ah well.“
“the staff at Ume never disappoint! having lived in the lower mainland in Burnaby, I had become accustomed to authentic top of the line sushi. Ume and the quality of food they provide is right on par with the best sushi restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. the staff make you feel welcome, they are very knowledgeable and professional and the quality of the food is exceptional. with authenticity and care, the food is absolutely delicious. my girlfriend and I frequently visit Ume to satisfy our Japanese food cravings. thank you to the team at Ume, please don't ever stop being so amazing!!“
“Excellent vegan options! Most of the menu is or can be made vegan. Lots of vegan gluten free options too. The food was delicious too. Will absolutely be back!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Lots of vegan and gluten free options“
“First time trying this place and will definitely be back. Food was fresh, flavorful and amazing. I've seen other reviews complaining that there wasn't a large variety of sushi but the rest of the extensive options in the menu greatly made up for that.Very well presented and the price was extremely reasonable. Service was very friendly and efficient. Thank you for the wonderful dinner ???“
“Ordered sushi from here on a whim and was delighted! Staff were really friendly, helpful, and service was quick. Everything was delicious, the rice was exceptional and flavours were amazing. Definitely our new favourite sushi place in Kelowna!“
“I love this restaurant, I crave it more than anything in Kelowna. I always get the coleslaw, ohitashi and kinpira gobo. Favorite ramen so far is the shoyu. Also tried bbq beef rice bowl and spicy coconut ramen. Really good.Kid-friendliness: Kids love fried chicken and french fries.Parking: 5 or 6Dietary restrictions: Vegetarians have options.“
“Maki Sushi is our absolute favourite restaurant in Kelowna! The owners are the kindest people who make delicious food our family is obsessed with ❤️ Food is fresh, yummy, well priced and oh so satisfying. Highly recommend this hidden gem!“
“My husband and I went in for dinner. He has quite a few allergies. We let them know and they were very mindful, accommodating and helpful. They also had a specifically gluten free menu they brought for us! :) Super amazing food. Great options for gluten free, the biggest Inari ever and the avocado was fresh on my fireman roll which is never usually as fresh any where else!!Dietary restrictions: Allergies to quite a few things. Needing gluten free specifically.“
“My son & I love this place I’ve been going for 10 plus years & it’s always so fresh & delicious. Their prices are great & service is great and the restaurant is cozy.I highly recommend the signature crispy tuna roll & squid karage so delicious every time.10/10 alwaysGinger & Leo“
“The service was great, the servers were super kind and answered all my questions. Now THE FOOD. The Beef pho was the best pho I’ve ever had. The beef was super tender and the server said it was boiling for 6 hours while the broth was super rich. The restaurant was super cute with a lot of decoration and had a very personal feel. Super Local and Super nice 10/10 (The pho was also very affordable only being 15.70$ after tax)“
“LOVED their Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodles). I had a hard time finding a restaurant in Canada that replicates the authentic Jjamppong flavour from Korea (even in Toronto and Vancouver areas), and this restaurant does this dish some justice. Highly recommend for their Korean noodle dishes.“
“Great little sushi spot close to the university and the airport. We stopped in for some food before a flight. My favorite dish was the mixed tempura, fresh, light and the batter was perfectly crisp. We also enjoyed the under the sea roll, a dynamite roll and a cali roll. The service was prompt and friendly.Bill for 2 people was around $50 which felt more than reasonable.Would definitely stop in again to try other dishes.“
“The friendliest staff, they always are so kind and we never wait long for anything. The sushi is always delicious and the gyoza is my favourite. The dining is very quiet and clean. It’s my favourite go-to sushi place so I had to leave 5 star review for that.“
“Bluetail is an amazing sushi place with lots of choices from simple calamari to Godzilla rolls with every item made fresh when you order and full of flavor. I love it one of the best places to get sushi in Kelowna. Has vegetarian options wheelchair accessible and has parking but doesn't have a kids menu (I think)“
“Seen some other reviews that weren't super positive but came here based on a lot of Reddit recommendations and I'm so glad we did. They make their own noodles and the food here is REALLY good and very well priced for the size you get. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.“
“I really liked this place, though it would be hard to call it exceprional.. The service was good. The food was good. I will eat here again for sure. It was very hard to find something small for my 4 year old though and I wouldn't say it's super family friendly.“
“Just head straight to the special rolls. Skip the basic ones, those makis you get in a platter. I ordered takeout one night and that was just a disappointment. While I understand food prepared for the North American market can be quite bland, those basic rolls were just a travesty--lol!The special rolls are where it's at. The creamy avocado and crispy, uhmmm, thing (supposedly there's bbq eel and spicy tuna in the Ogopogo roll--just couldn't identify) were a nice combination. Takoyaki was good too. ?“
“I have been coming here for many years and honestly, it is one of my favourite restaurants that I have ever been to and will continue going to forever! Every single person that works there is so kind, and its always so welcoming! The food is also to die I usually end up getting the same thing when I switch it up it’s funny to see the reactions if you are looking for a wonderful restaurant, with an awesome atmosphere, and even more amazing people this is your place!“
“I have eaten here twice so far. Both times just after they opened for lunch on a thursday. Once this month, once in August. The fried chicken is bar none some of the best. The batter is the right amount of crispy. The portion sizes are excellent. The chicken is perfectly moist. The plating is appetizing. It is absolutely fantastic, and I will be stopping again sometime soon. Can not get enough of CM Chicken.Dietary restrictions: They have options that range from Gluten Free to Vegetarian. Can not speak for vegan options.Parking: Nearby parking lot of Impark not even a block away.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, ramp to get in, plenty of maneuverability between tables.“
“Always good food and a great price! Theyre a small location that closes on sundays and between lunch and dinner. My favorite place to go! Staff (even in the kitchen) say hello or thank you, its very kind. Daily specials are worth paying attention to; theyre great prices!“
“I had no idea of what to expect, but it turned out to be awesome!! Food was great and everyone (including picky kids) loved it. Staff were SUPER awesome, even gave us free treats after our meal. Would totally recommend.Kid-friendliness: Kids asked for very specific meals and chef nailed them perfectly. Very well done and yummy for everyone!! ?“
“We discovered this tiny hidden restraint a few months backFood is just fantasticStaff is so amazingly friendlyMy wife and I regularly order the combination for 2, which is about a 4 coarse meal for $50 ( All Together )Just so happy to have found this place. I would say tell your friends but I want to keep it a secret.“
“Yamato has had the best dim sum in Kelowna for years and my last visit it had only gotten better! Great portions, lots of variety, and delicious green tea to finish it off. Not to mention their regular sushi menu is also amazing - and their red curry! Quick friendly service make it really an amazing place to eat with something that will satisfy everyone!“
“Never having been in Kelowna before I was delighted I could just walk across the street from my hotel on the cold winter night for a wonderful meal. MOMO reminded me of the numerous little side street restaurants we used to eat in while in Japan.I left it to my excellent server to bring me "sushi & tempura shrimp"...and they did, after a delectable and warming bowl of Miso soup. Lovely HUGE portions of tempura shrimp and assorted sushi washed down with sake and an ASAHI.Could not finish so it was lunch the next day as well. Thanks to the staff and chefs at MOMO for making this a memorable visit.“
“By far the best sushi in Kelowna. A lovely and fresh ambient interior, paired with polite and friendly staff. The food is high quality and there are certainly unique flavor profiles not to be found elsewhere in the city. A gem on their menu is the homemade salad dressing which is absurdly delicious.“
