“I have ordered from this place constantly for the past year and a half and I have been trying different things on their menu each time. I have never once been disappointed in the quality, presentation, or taste that the food they preset offers. My wife is Japanese and hasn’t had proper Japanese made food from home in over 2 years and she loves this place and describes the feel of the food like “home”. The price compared to other places is great as the portion size relative to the cost is very much worth it. If you haven’t eaten here before I HIGHLY recommend it“

“My boyfriend and I just finished our brunch date. It was one of the best brunches we have ever had. The portion sizes, flavours, and customer service were outstanding. From the moment we sat down, her warm smile and genuine enthusiasm made us feel so welcome. Mareike was incredibly attentive, checking in just the right amount without ever being intrusive. She offered fantastic recommendations from the menu, clearly knowing the dishes inside and out, which made our meal even more enjoyable. “Love that this place is vegan, prioritizes sustainability in their packaging, and makes all their proteins in-house. However, the food itself isn’t so good that we are making a point to return on this trip…know what I mean? The flavors just don’t pop. The onion rings feature red onion, which I think is notable (and delicious!). I would say the burgers are better than the chicken sandwiches and the poutine can be skipped. “This is our must go to restaurant when we visit Victoria via boat for 30 years. First-year there I ordered the BlackBerry halibut and every year since then I order it and it's still my favorite cooked perfect, it's hard to make halibut moist like butter. My husband loves the olive tapenade they serve with their focaccia bread and will get an extra bowl to pour on his pasta. Best cheese cake too. Great culture, attention to detail, they even use copper water pitchers, the water is great.“

“We had an amazing experience at the Alpina Restaurant. The restaurant is well appointed and the view is stunning (even with some rain and clouds). The food was absolutely outstanding (especially the beet salad) and we enjoyed literally every bite. Both our servers were very good. It was fine-dining level expensive and worth every penny. I had the ’Smoked Tofu Muffaletta sandwich’ which was very tasty and savoury & the classic mimosa which was easily the best I've ever had.

The staff makes you feel welcome and important as well the ambiance of the place.

Since I didn't have Much Time to visit Victoria, I needed a place to brunch nearby downtown Victoria and this place was suggested by chatgpt for their vegan options.

“We really enjoy coffee and treats and occasionally lunch in this lovely spot. The staff are great, the venue charming. The outdoor water views are beautiful. The only thing I would suggest, is to add few savoury baked goods, for those of us without a big sweet tooth. Savoury scones, sausage rolls etc for a small sustaining snack😊“

“A friend and I just dined here for the 1st time and we both were blown away. The renovation of the interior is beautiful and the service was impeccable. We were treated to the owners daughter that kept checking in on us and had a great conversation and heard some background of the development of this new idea from the owners as we have always been fans of Sizzling Tandoori.
We ordered 4 dishes to share and they were all incredible. My personal favorites was the gnocchi dish and the torkhi chaat dish???? we will definitely be back and highly recommend trying this place out!

Congee was amazing! Not what you’d expect from a Chinese congee and in the best way. Americano was super smooth without the over-roasted bitterness of some better known coffee brands. I was on the island for a visit and will be back at my next opportunity.“

I’m not sure if she was the owner but you can tell she knew her stuff. She accommodated all of our requests and made awesome recommendations. The restaurant was inviting, and had nice water and fire features. The food was top notch, and came out quickly. Before they opened for dinner, we had seen people wait outside of the restaurant to get in once they opened, which is always a good sign anywhere you go.
