My visit to Torimaru Ramen today proved that it isn’t.
Their rich, velvety chicken paitan ramen instantly brought back memories of the early days of Marutama Ramen in Vancouver. With its slender white noodles, perfectly seasoned soft-boiled egg, and the option for kaedama (extra noodles), Torimaru captures all the hallmark comforts of classic tonkotsu while delivering the refined elegance of modern, new-wave ramen. Come to think of it, ramen as everyday comfort food was born from humble food carts to begin with—a world away from all that ornate tableware.

If you aren't quite accustomed to the intense richness of a concentrated chicken broth, their complimentary fresh garlic and chili oil offer an effortless, customizable gateway into their star dish.

My only wish? I really hope they consider offering a larger paper takeout bowl down the road—because then, I wouldn't hesitate to order a triple portion of extra noodles.“

“Great value proposition in Taiwanese fried chicken. The crunch was good and it was generously seasoned. The serving size (I got a regular) is absolutely a monster for one person. I recommend sharing with at least two or more people. Despite the scale of fried chicken, I didn’t feel greasy after finishing it.

Cash only. There is an ATM at the lottery convenience at the other end of the mall. You are given a pager that vibrates and rings once your food is ready. Seating can be difficult at peak times since there’s other food spots in the cafeteria.“

“This cute little shop has a small menu so you know it’s fire!! All their Chinese burgers are authentic and cooked fresh, I’d especially recommend the pork one with green peppers! 腊汁肉夹馍

Their prices are also super affordable starting at around 8 dollars!“

“Lots of different varieties but only one halal place...Cazba. It's a Persian grill. I hope more halal or vegetarian options will be offered soon. The other halal place within the mall is Basha close to Zara and the stairs by Urban Behavior. As Metrotown is getting busier, there should be more seating arrangement. Parking is free only on weekends now and after 6pm weekdays“

“A great food court. Many options, and tons of seating! Definitely could handle large groups eating from different establishments located in the food court if ordered in advance.

Great place for a quick bite to eat while touring the waterfront.

“Great little Mexican secret spot! A friend insisted we go here, it's a stall in a food court in the International Mall dt near China Town. Menu has good choices I had gluten-free taco plate. If you enjoy Mexican you should try this place“

“I have been dining at Man Ri Sung for over five years and the quality of the food and service has always been top notch. The portions are generous, and every dish is consistently delicious.

This has become our go to restaurant whenever we have something to celebrate because we know we can always count on a great dining experience. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service never disappoints.

“Got 3 piece combo mixed spicy and regular. If you like spicy like me the spicy chicken was great! It was a bit to much for my wife but she really enjoyed the regular flavor. Both of us agree that the chicken meat has more flavor than the average fried chicken spot.“

“Located in Parker Place Mall, Cherry's Icy Bar is the place for me to go for shaved ice with 8 toppings. Best bang for the buck $10.75 tax included. Probably could have used more shaved ice for the amount of topping she gives. (Lol, yes, more ice as it melts too quickly by the time you try to get a table to enjoy the dessert 😅).“

“It is actually good value to order half a Hainanese chicken combo, including oil white rice and a broth on the side. It is big enough for 2 people. I will definitely come back.
Their service is fast. At lunch rush, Empire Centre food court is a busy place. So, even the vendor prepares your food fast, you may still need to be patient to locate a table.“

“This food court is big and full of people - heard from multiple sources that this is one of best food courts. Many different kinds of food stalls and most of them look great. I tried the soup dumping and pan fried dumping at 白玉兰，it was ok not the best. Downstairs market was awesome, vegetables were very fresh, frozen dumplings and wontons came all sorts of flavor and shapes. The place feels much much better than the Richmond public market.“

“Parker Good Food at Parker Place is a fantastic choice for a satisfying meal. Their Hong Kong-style curry beef and chicken are excellent, bursting with rich flavors. The BBQ pork on rice is equally delightful. They offer a great lunch special for just $15, making it a terrific value. Plus, the convenience of ordering through the telephone is a real bonus. Friendly service and delicious food make this spot a must-visit in the food court!“

I never had pork hock until today. It was nice fat and juicy! The sides were great! I got pan fried potato sticks, vermicelli, marinaded egg! The pickled veggie hits the spot.“

“Absolutely love this food court - I've eaten at basically every restaurant in the food fair and they're all above-average, especially for a food court, and Broye is a welcome addition as the resident coffee shop.

The Persian place (Tops Chef Persian) isn't getting nearly enough love, so I'm going to call it out specifically. Their chicken rice bowl is soooo filling and has so much veg in it and is only $12, which is shockingly affordable for 2026. I'd fully expect to pay like $18 for it most places (and it'd still be a great deal). Strong recommend.“

“First time trying the food court but I’ve been a long time member. Even with no sitting tables around there are plenty of places you can go to sit or just having a place to food your on a table or ledge makes it comfortable to eat. Also ease of ordering if the many digital stations they have to order your food. There are lots of pigeons around though that may harass you a bit as you eat. You can’t beat the prices here though!! Will def come back to try some of the other foods.“

“We visited Little Japan, a small restaurant owned by a lovely couple. The food was excellent, with generous portions and great service. You can add a fried egg to your meal for just $2 🍳. If you're in the area and looking for delicious food at a reasonable price, I highly recommend checking it out! ✅
