“2025.09.02. Izakaya restaurant is a common type of Japanese drinking pub with small snacks after work and the tab usually is much higher.

Came here to try out this place. Tonight very quiet, got seated without waiting . Complimentary snacks provided. Menu available online through their barcode with complimentary WiFi.

From their tapas menu, which means small plates, ordered a seaweed salad, and veggie rolls; from their signature menu, grilled unagi Kabayaki. Plus a bottled beer Coeda.

The food quality was all first rate, it doesn't mean large portions. The service was a bit too assertive, removing the beer bottle before having an opportunity to read the label. The atmosphere was dark, quiet. Credit cards accepted. This place is really good and recommended for its food quality. Just be aware of what you order as the tab gets expensive fast.“

“Absolutely amazing restaurant ! The food is all so fresh and quality is amazing. Staff is friendly and efficient.
I highly recommend tuna or salmon sushi, the karaage chicken.
And get the corn entrée ! (You can’t order enough !)“

“A great team front of house and back that will take good care of you, while having fun and enjoying their work. Had a new dish, Hokkaido scallop wrapped in Wagyu, it was decadent, flavorful and all around outstanding. Will keep coming back.“

“First time for us, attended a private function. Food was delicious and filling. The service was outstanding and extremely attentive. They had a vast array of sake and after ordering the sake flight (sampler tray), we found a few options that we really liked and ordered a couple of bottles. The sashimi was very fresh and delicious. There was an assortment of dishes that we tried that were on par with many of the high end restaurants, such as the egg omelet with crab ankake and the BBQ eel Unagi rice bowl. Street parking was easy to find. We’d definitely come back to Hashigo Sake Bar.“

“I’ve been there a couple of times, and I loved the food and affordable prices! Got the Taco Rice (bottom one on the pic), portion size is decent (not too big, not too small), tastes great. Staff were nice, the only issue is that when we were seated outside, it took a while to call the waitress. They were busy with other customers inside, but the ones on the patio feel left out. Overall, quality and taste of food is good, prices are very generous!“

“I was next door and looking forward to eat at Momo Sushi but the Chinese girl so rude when I came in and greeted her in Japanese. From then on it was very rude no Wi-fi 20-minute wait place was crowded so I came here to Guu. Very friendly Wi-Fi they speak Japanese and the food is excellent. If you're in Waterfront in the old town Gaslight area go straight yo Guu.. NO NO on momo :)“
