It’s a cool and unique place. One of a kind!
Great atmosphere, great coffee, great service. The cafe itself has the rustic look I like. My wife and I ordered a matcha latte and Cortado (dark roast). Flavours were deep and strong with no acidity. The latte art was poured beautifully. Will come back for sure.
Their ceremonial matcha is very smooth, recommended!

East Café in Marpole (formerly Gigi Blin) has been a real discovery, offering incredibly delicious coffee and excellent food in a calm, cozy, and truly special atmosphere. The moment of entry feels welcoming, from the friendliness of the barista to the warm aura. The rustic wood decor and vintage vinyls on the wall add charm, while generous, comfy seating with large tables and huge windows fill the space with light. Jazz and warm lights keep it cozy, and there is even a piano in the back. The crema on the espresso was notably delightful, and the decaf was one of the best. Matcha is high quality, and hojicha is also offered. Fresh housemade sandwiches are still served, with more options for bakery and pastries. Grocer products are kept and rearranged in an organized manner for efficient flow. Industrial wooden shelves along the wall have been cleverly made into individual seatings. Good coffee offers a choice of light or dark roast. This café is a gem, perfect for reading or getting work done, and it is a place to happily while away an entire day.
