Messob Ethiopian Cuisine Reviews
I have had Ethiopian food twice before and this place is the real deal. A little hard to find (find the Mexican restaurant and go around back through courtyard). The owner/cook has run this place at this locale for nearly 25 years with her children. Her daughter helps her now. I love the spongy bread (injera) that you tear off and scoop up all the fixings with, including lentils, veg, and meat. Yummy!! Highly recommend you try this place while in Victoria. Note: they can run out...read full review
I stopped by here for a bite while visiting my son. Having grown up near Toronto where there are so many options for Ethiopian food, I'm always excited to find some on the west coast. This place is a tiny gem and I fell in love with the cooks/staff immediately.
Absolutely delicious veggie combo, with the best tikel gomen I've ever had (very flavorful oil, not soggy). The injera is light and thin but with a nice tang, and holds together well. A phenomenal bargain for the...read full review

We come here on a weekly basis! This is one of the best places to eat in town. The food is delicious, healing, and so reasonably priced ($12-14 for a large combination plate). The owner is always so lovely and kind and she works very hard running this place by herself. The food is flavourful but not spicy, for anyone concerned. There is a really nice patio area to sit and enjoy. You will not regret supporting this place!

Messob Ethiopian Cuisine offers a variety of delicious options, including vegetarian and meat dishes. The service is great, and the food is truly amazing. The veggie platter and vegan plate are standouts, served with injera and filled with greens, lentils, potatoes, cabbage, and more. The beef and chicken dishes are also popular, with many regulars enjoying the full dinner options. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, with a lovely patio out back, especially on a sunny day. Located in the Cook Street Village food court, it provides both indoor and outdoor seating. The meals are affordable, filling, and easy on sensitive stomachs, but they sell out fast, so don’t go too late.
