“Fern has never disappointed with their baked goods. The cinnamon buns are a must try. They added doughnuts over the past couple years which have always been very good when I've tried them. The scones are another personal favourite. I have ordered a few items off the kitchen menu over the years and been pleasantly surprised but honestly I'm often going for the baked goods. Parking around the back is convenient when available, otherwise parking in the area is a pain to find. Location is small with a few tables inside that can fill quickly during busy hours. Staff is always pleasant. If you follow their social media they sometimes post BOGO near the end of the day if they have treats leftover.“

“McDonald’s for vegans but so much more! When fast food chains offer so little for vegans this place is a brilliant spot if you crave just that. There are lots of options from 'beef' meaty and chickun patties to wraps, gyros and veggie nuggets, with different flavours and exciting sides including poutine. We tried the Bacun famous melt, chickun Caesar wrap, famous burger, Vopper and tater tots poutine. It was pretty good for fast food and more exciting than the other options available elsewhere, so we enjoyed it as something not usually found. We were stuffed after each getting a meal, including a main, side and drink. And a special mention for vegan soft serve ice cream, which I have never seen before, so we squeezed it in - so much tastier than I remembered!“

“This is our must go to restaurant when we visit Victoria via boat for 30 years. First-year there I ordered the BlackBerry halibut and every year since then I order it and it's still my favorite cooked perfect, it's hard to make halibut moist like butter. My husband loves the olive tapenade they serve with their focaccia bread and will get an extra bowl to pour on his pasta. Best cheese cake too. Great culture, attention to detail, they even use copper water pitchers, the water is great.“

“They have set meals for $23. Used to be cheaper. Lots of food for the price. Had the assorted katsu set: good if you're into breaded stuff. The sesame coleslaw is delicious. The side dishes are interesting, blanched greens, pickled veggies, various sauces. Also had the teriyaki chicken. Very normal and filling. Same side dishes. Had the deep fried ice cream. The batter was a bit thick on the ice cream, but its ok. Will try other dishes next time.“

I had the ’Smoked Tofu Muffaletta sandwich’ which was very tasty and savoury & the classic mimosa which was easily the best I've ever had.

The staff makes you feel welcome and important as well the ambiance of the place.

Since I didn't have Much Time to visit Victoria, I needed a place to brunch nearby downtown Victoria and this place was suggested by chatgpt for their vegan options.

“A friend and I just dined here for the 1st time and we both were blown away. The renovation of the interior is beautiful and the service was impeccable. We were treated to the owners daughter that kept checking in on us and had a great conversation and heard some background of the development of this new idea from the owners as we have always been fans of Sizzling Tandoori.
We ordered 4 dishes to share and they were all incredible. My personal favorites was the gnocchi dish and the torkhi chaat dish???? we will definitely be back and highly recommend trying this place out!

Delicious pizza always fresh. 6.99 for 2 very large slices by todays standards and that includes a drink. Would pay 10 just for the quality of the experience. “The server was amazing, accommodating, friendly, personable, genuine, and asked all the necessary questions (allergies, spice level). I’m not sure if she was the owner but you can tell she knew her stuff. She accommodated all of our requests and made awesome recommendations. The restaurant was inviting, and had nice water and fire features. The food was top notch, and came out quickly. Before they opened for dinner, we had seen people wait outside of the restaurant to get in once they opened, which is always a good sign anywhere you go.
