10 Best Cafes in Eureka

“Stopped by for some morning coffee and matcha with a relatively big group. The workers were sweet and efficient. Although we had a lot of drinks ordered, they were pretty quick with making them. Coffee was solid, they also were able to make it with honey which was a major plus. Also tried their matcha with honey which was alright as well. The place itself was spacious and welcoming to be in. Parking was easy to find. Definitely will be back if ever in the area!“

“went to Los bagels for the first time a week ago as we were making our way through the PNW. Their bagles are so good and the berry scones.... yes please. no matter how busy the line had gotten the whole staff showed grace and diligence in their work and the own should be proud to have hired such a great group. hope to make my way soon in october“

“This eatery offers authentic full course plates and also a good selection of some traditional Hispano snacks ! When I saw elotes con chile y queso and the bags of chips all munchied up , I knew that this place was the real deal !👍Try the ice cream desserts too . Mmmm just like home sweet home .😉“

“If you haven’t been to Sweet Greens yet GOOOOOOOO!!!! Everything is organic, in house made and fabulously fresh. The Paradise bowl is my personal favorite, but honestly every single item the put out is delicious! This is a sweet little family owned business so let’s support them and get our healthy on folks!“

“I really enjoy most about this location. The things offered here are above and beyond a local coffee shop which is nice. But the thing that's a bit off-putting is the fact that the service is not exactly friendly. My daughter really needed a glass of water and the pitcher was empty. When I asked for it to be filled, I got a very annoyed and sarcastic response from the lady. She said it's coming someone will do it. 10 minutes later it still wasn't done so I asked again, I got the same response, another 10 minutes later still not done so I stood at the counter and asked for a cup of water for a 4 year old. Yet again I was told with a meaner ton it's coming. It honestly feels like even small business don't seem to care about decent customer service anymore even though we customers are paying quite a lot of money supporting these places.“

“I visited Ramone’s in Old Town Eureka today with my girlfriend. We had good service overall, but I wanted to share some feedback that might help improve consistency.

I ordered a large coffee with heavy cream and vanilla flavoring, along with a cortado. The barista preparing the drinks didn’t seem familiar with what a cortado was, and although the person at the register told her verbally, she was then left on her own to figure it out. The drinks came out lukewarm, my coffee was overpowering with vanilla, and the cortado was extremely watery with no real texture or balance.

I finished them and politely asked for another cortado—this time hoping someone more experienced could prepare it. The second cortado was excellent, and the barista mentioned it was her favorite drink, which showed immediately in the quality. The difference between the first and second drink really highlighted the inconsistency.

My girlfriend’s matcha latte was also subpar compared to other locations.

This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed inconsistency at the Old Town location. A couple of times I’ve ended up with actual coffee grounds in my drip coffee, especially toward the end of the cup. I’m not sure how that’s getting through, but it’s only happened at this location, not at the Harrison Ramone’s, which is much more consistent.

I want to emphasize that the staff was friendly and the service was good. My feedback is simply about quality control and training. If new employees are being trained, it would help if experienced staff stayed involved to ensure drinks come out consistently, especially when customers are ordering more specialty items like cortados or Gibraltars.

I really enjoy Ramone’s and hope this feedback helps bring the Old Town location up to the same standard as the others.“
