The spot is excellent and spacious, the food was delicious and the rates were very inexpensive. I noticed rapidly, effective service and very amiable staff. I highly recommend this place. As far as I know today this place is temporarily closed.
Been going here for 30 years. Today the phone is disconnected and there's a sign on the door saying shut down due to structural pests 6/3/20. Place looks deserted and empty. Oh please don't let Maria Elena's go out of business. I can't live with out Platillo Combinado #12.

This is so shame. I had been going to Maria Elena's since the boatyard existed just south of the Gold Street bridge in the mid 80s. I'll miss all the company lunches we had over there. The mariachi music into the evening. Alviso has lost another part of its personality and a landmark. Every year, a little bit of Alviso gets chipped away.
